Car starts running rough at idle, eventually quits running. Has new plugs, wires, cap, fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter, IAC Valve, and gas cap.
After the IAC valve was replaced the car runs strong and accelerates well. When sitting at a light or stop sign the engine will cough, cough cough, cough sputter cough cough, then die unless the accelerator is depressed

sounds like its not getting enough of fuel. check or replace fuel filter. this will cause vehicle to die out at stops because when you come to a stop. the dirt settles to bottom of filter, and then its like it chokes out the fuel supply. Hope this helps! the reason it runs in netural, is because the engine is not under load.
1. Error Code 24. Intake Air Temperature Sensor.
Solution: Check the following:
- IAT Connector and wiring.
- Intake Air Temperature Sensor.
- Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor.
- ECM. 2. Rough Idling when the engine is hot. The following are the reasons due to which the engine can perform bad when it is hot.
- Fuel pump control circuit.
- Fuel pump pressure.
- Fuel injectors.
- Non Return Valve clogged, located on the lower side of car chassis above the fuel tank.
- Engine compression, valve clearance, spark plugs.
I actually had to replace my EGR valve and the gasket. I clean the valve well and reused both. I don't think the gasket sealed well enough though. So I went ahead and got a new valve, gasket and changed them. It runs a lot smoother now.
Try plug wires, that's about all you haven't replaced. Actually if you have an ohm meter you can test them - anything over 6k ohms per foot - REPLACE them. Also run a good fuel system cleaner through it and stay away from cheap gas.
I Have a 1999 ford f150 4.6 that back fires and is just running really ruff when idling alot of nack fire a sord of like a pulse going on what is my problem?
maybe your iac valve is not working? it takes place of a choke or temp sender to computer could be bad which controls t I.A.C. known as the idle control valve,do you have any codes?
