2007 Ford Edge front creaking noise while braking and/or turning

Recently replaced lower front passenger side control arm and bearing assembly. The bearing was loose in arm assembly and was causing ******* noise. That noise is now fixed, but recently have developed a creaking noise while slowing and turning or braking and accelerating. Wondering if it could be the bearing bracket on top of strut? 136,000 miles on vehicle.

either put a jack under the strut (if you can do so safely and raise the strut or use a good pry bar to pull down on the A arm. make 100% sure the car is well supported with jack stands etc.

1998 Dodge Stratus rubbing noise when turning. Sounds like rubber against metal. No popping noise.

It could be several things ....
Wheel bearings - jack the front driver side up. First ... just rotate the wheel ... you should hear NOTHING. Any noise menas there is probably a wheel bearing/hub issue. Now take hold of the tire in the 9am and 3pm positions. Try to push/pull from side to side ... if there is any "play" in the wheel the bearings are going.
Brake line interference - a lot of brake lines have a plastic sheath in the wheel well area ... check to see that the line/plastic sheath shows no wear when you have the wheel off...that might cause the issue.
Steering linkage - even though the upper control arms were recently replaced look at all the ball joints and grab hold of them and see if there is any play/movement.
Repeat on the passenger side..
Good luck on your troubleshooting

I have a clunk sound in the passenger front when turn left and also when i let off the brake after applying the brakes. i have changed on both sides of the car--- struts springs, lower control arm all...

You need to replace the upper control arm bushings and upper ball joint on both sides as well. You can buy them as a complete assembly. I had a similar problem and basically needed to replace everything in the front end of my 94 third. On mine the sound was the upper control arm shifting position on stops, starts, turns.

What noise? And year and make of car?
A clicking noise on turns is a worn CV joint on the axle shafts. A grinding noise at one of the wheels could be a wheel bearing. Worn brake pads may cause squealing, screeching other high pitched noise.

1- front wheel bearing hub loose or loose axle nut
2- front shock(s)
3- ball joint(S)
4- lower control arm bushing(s)
all of these things can be checked by a professional in about 15 minutes and should be relatively painless financially

Front wheel bearing repair

There's no repair to the hub bearing assembly, seal unit, to replace first remove axle nut ( 32 or 36 mm) might need some one to step on brake while removing nut, so it done turn on you, remove front brake caliper and caliper bracket, then remove brake rotor, on back side of hub bearing there three bolt's, remove, hub bearing should slide out, some time with a little help from a hammer, install new hub bearing.

I think you are right. The strut or strut mount bearings on the top of the strut could be making noise. The shop might try and rip you off with additional repairs for the control arms, control arm bushings, or steering parts. I would take the vehicle to a reliable shop.
