SOURCE: terrible noice when I turn the steering wheel on my 2001 BMW 325i
Make sure you check your power steering fluid... if it's even low, it will make a terrible noise...run it on empty too long and your can ruin your power steering pump.

when looking at the engine with the hood up, look to the right hand side for something that looks like this (#1 in the pic): http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=ET37&mospid=47720&btnr=32_0957&hg=32&fg=20
it will be black in color, but don't confuse it with the oil filter housing. power steering reservoir will have a unique cap (#2 in the pic) that can be removed with your hand. the one that has the large nut on top is the oil filter. remove the cap and put in the correct fluid.
hope this helped.

the better question is, "why are the rotors warped?" replacing them without figuring out why will only cause the new rotors to warp again.
look for a caliper that is dragging if only one rotor is found warped. a caliper that is found to not be retracting one or both pads on one side will cause extreme heat to the rotor at speed. if both are found warped, check both calipers. be sure to also check if the brake cooling ducts are obstructed.
when replacing the rotors, be sure to replace the brake pads also AND the brake sensor wire. don't use old pads with new rotors and vice-versa.

It might be a faulty power steering pump. Try checking the level of the power steering fluid. It is probably best you have your power steering system checked by a mechanic.
Does the noise occur only when the vehicle is moving?
Try moving the steering wheel from side to side, while stationary (but don't do it too often, or you might damage something). If the noise is still present when the car is stationary, then it probably is the power steering system.
If the noise only occurs while the vehicle is moving, it could be a problem with the differential/final drive, or even wheel bearings.

In the boot you'll find underneath the carpet, a spare wheel well. Containing a spare wheel, a jack, lever tool to remove the bolts and thats all you need. Make sure the handbrake is on and in gear to stop the car moving. Using the jack, you'll notice rubber jacking blocks on th underside of your car.
These points are where to jack the car up. Jack the car up so the its slightly lifted but the wheel is still touching the floor, this will make it easier to undo the wheel nuts. Best way is to put the wheel bolt removal tool and kick it down to "crack them off". Once all bolts loosened continue to jack car up till the wheel is clear off the ground. Remove all loosened bolts and replace wheel. Job done!
