Transmission problems seems as if someting is tripping the relay cuases the car to lock in to low gear until you shut the car off restart it the car will shift fine for a few miles. has to be effecting the relay. Now going thru the questions on this site possibilities people having the same trouble could be a transmission modulator, teperature sensor, or a transmission control module. Where are these? inside of transmission connected to the valvebody is black box type thing i can get to it just loosening it from the valvebody what is that and can that cuase it?

    does not seem to effect the performance of the car, no light is coming on, could be the transmission, but car seems to be shifting fine. The hum continues while the car is driving at 50-65 miles per hour until we slow down. We r taking a trip to Colorado and fear that mountain driving may be a problem.

I have a 02 dodge intrepid and it was getting stuck in 2nd gear. This is called "limp mode", designed to get you off the road . I had to replace the transmission control solonoid, and at the same time, had the tranny serviced. the tech also found a broken spring in the valve body. total cost was $600.

Buick rendezvous low tire pressure light
After checking/adjusting all tire's pressure (including spare, some spares have a tire pressure sending unit), turn ignition "ON" (NOT "START", just the position key is at when you are driving).
Press the MODE button until LOW TIRE PRESSURE HOLD SET TO RESET is displayed.
Press and hold the SET button until a chime sounds and TIRE PRESSURE RESET is displayed and a chime sounds 3 times.
Release the SET button and TIRE PRESSURE NORMAL is displayed.

Transmission will go in 3rd gear and stays there till i turn car off and restart it then it will work fine for awhile.,transmission seems to work fine till this happens.
the problem is common for these vans. I'm on my 4th and the first one did this to me. What is happening is that the transmission solenoid has gone out. The transmission stays in 1st to allow you to get to safety until it can be fixed. Occasionally shutting the van off and letting the transmission cool off will allow it to work normally until it acts up again. This is not a real expensive repair but not something for a novice.

What could cuase the tranny not to shift out of first gaer until the temperature gauge on the dash is middle and the fluild does not smell burnt in itit takes a driving it about 2 miles in low gear before...
Very common with these transmissions. Take it from me, never get the transmission power flushed. I have a '94 and never had the shifting problem until we had it flushed. The power flush affected the seal. Once it hits a certain temp and the seal expands, the car will shift fine. Get a bottle of Lucas transmission conditioner, not the fix, get the conditioner. Pour the bottle right in, run it for about three weeks, problem gone. The conditioner works in to keep the seal expanded no matter how cold it gets. Good luck!

1995 lincoln occasionally has problems getting in gear to go. Seems like it is stuck in neutral. Lasts a few seconds then it gets into gear and goes.
SEEMS LIKE TRANSMISSION FLUID LOW.TRANSMISSION SLIPPING TRYING TO GO IN DRIVE.CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL. IF LOW ADD FLUID UNTIL YOU REACH FULL MARK ON TRANSMISSION DIP STICK. WITH ENGINE RUNNING A IN OPERATING TEMPERATURE.IF FLUID LEVEL OKAY.CHANGE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FILTER IF YOU HAVE NOT CHANGED IN A LONG WHILE.A DIRTY STOPPED UP FILTER WILL CAUSE TRANSMISSION TO SLIP.CANT PICK UP FLUID.

My 2003 GMC Envoy (90K miles) seems to be stuck in a low gear when starting out all of a sudden. This happened a few days ago, it has popped out of this problem once already, but the issue returned...
The transfer case is in low gear but the front axle actuator is not locking the front diff. This is an electronic problem and there will be C chassis codes generated. have the vehicle scanned for DTC's.

When i slow down the trans shifts hard and stays locked in 1st or 2nd gear untill i restart the car it is a 2003 dodge intrepid 2.7
This is called a 2nd gear limp mode -- it is a safety devise in the computor to prevent interior damage to the transmission -- the cause could be a speed sensor or a blown rear low/reverse seal inside the transmission.

94 Chrysler Concorde Tranny Problems
Have your transmission oil filter changed;
it is located under the transmission pan
The oil is what makes the transmission shift
When you shut off the engine it stops the transmission pump then when you start up again the transmission shifts until the filter clogs again
