I have 2005 Ford F150 that just shuts down when I am drive and everything stops. Luckly I have been able to pull over safetly and restart it in 5 to 10 minutes.
Ford can't find anything wrong.
Can anyone help me.
Thanks,
It is probably the driver fuel pump modual (DFPM) it is located above the spare tire. they usually corrode away and shut dow the fuel pump intermittently. u may also have to replace the connector to due to corrosion
I had the same issue i changed the fuel fillter it was a little dirty but not bad. Still had problem then i cleaned out the throtel it worked good for a while. Ended up replacing the throtel its about $250 if you do it yourself which is not hard to do. The problem is the electronic throtel control but you have to replace the whole thing not sold seperatly hope that helps. Been running great did that 15,000 miles ago.

My 2005 f-150 has done the same thing. Everything just shut down as I was driving down the highway. I had the cruise control set at 70mph when all the dash service lights came on, the engine had just died and I lost power steering. Luckily I was able to coast into a safe place. About 5 minutes later it restarted and I was able to drive home although the check engine light stayed on. All the dealership said was that they cleaned the throttle casing, its working fine now.
