Dexron III has now changed to Dexron vi. Because now it's synthetic and lubricates better. Dexron III is discontinued but some of the not so smart parts stores still sell it. But I would put dexron vi in it also known as dex6

Yes, most front wheel drive vehicles need to have the subframe removed in order to removed the transmission and this is no exception. Are you sure this is a 4t-60, I thought it was a 4t-80. I could be thinking of a different year I guess.
