I have a 2001 dodge stratus ES, with a full charge it will start and run fine, however it has symptoms that act like an alternator or battery issue car will run but slowly loses power, battery light comes on, then radio and gauges go followed by the car dying... upon attempted restart battery is dead. Here's the kicker, I have had both the alternator and the battery tested and they are both good..... Please Help!

Proper way to jump your car is to attach the jumper cable clamps to the marked posts on your car...on the vehicle that is jumping you, attach the positive clamp to the positive post and the negative clamp to some piece of metal on the vehicle...can even be a screw as long as it sparks a little (grounding). Don't connect the clamp to the negative post.

I researched and found I needed to reseat or replace the IOD fuse. In my Dakota this is labled "Interior Lights". By pulling this fuse it allowed the radio to reset and everything came back. Hope it works !

CHECK ANTIFREEZE IN RADIATOR.IF LOW ADD COOLANT.CHECK FOR LEAKING RADIATOR HOSES AND WATER PUMP HOSE.ALSO CHECK RADIATOR FOR LEAKS.IF ALL GOOD NO RADIATOR LEAKS.REPLACE THERMOSTAT.IF STILL OVER HEATS AFTER REPLACING THERMOSTAT .CHECK COOLING FANS FOR OPERATION AND COOLANT SENSOR.ALSO CHECK TO MAKE SURE WATER PUMP WEEP HOLES IS NOT LEAKING.BECAUSE A BAD WATER PUMP CAUSES OVERHEATING ALSO.
