SOURCE: Front drive, 4 Wheel drive won't engage

Check the switch on the transfercase remove the vacume lines if there is oil in them the switch has to be replaced and the lines should be cleaned out you should also check under the battery tray to make sure the boot is not ripped that controls the leaver to engage the front axel

SOURCE: 1999 Jimmy 4wd not engaging. It has push button

could be your front actuator or your actuator motor on the transfer case.

SOURCE: 4x4 will not engage in 96 gmc yukon

I just fixed a friend of mines 96 yukon...shift to neutral press 4H and u can hear the actuator make noise (we even replaced it with a new one his idea and the same thing happen as old one), so as he hit the switch for 4H i layed under it (on 4 jack stands) and I could hear the motor on the transfer case make a loud noise (well thats working) and before all this I asked him did u check all your fuses (he said guarnteed to be all good) one night it was bothering me so i looked through the owner manual for the yukon and in the fuse box on driver side by the door there are (2) fuse for the 4wheel drive unit, pull one of the fuses good...pulled the other one and it was blown put in a new fuse and it works like brand new..pull fuse for anything that has to do with 4 wheel drive componants,

SOURCE: 4wd will not engage on 2002 gmc sierra 1500

try going into reverse for 10 feet then go to drive for 10 feet that might help if not it is to the wiring to you 4x4 engage system (wires to your wheel hub)

My '96 Suburban 1500 4x4 won't shift into 4 wheel drive. When I push the button for 4 Hi the light just flashes and stays in 2 wheel drive.

the electric shift motor on transfer case is bad, replace and it will work great. if your at all mechanically inclined you can do this very easy. before unbolting motor disconnect battery to reset computer install part, should only take you 15 min maybe then hook up battery and you will have 4 wheel drive again. good luck

I have 1998 Honda Passport 4x4. The green light that looks like a rolling chasis comes on and blinks when I I push the 4x4 button. It just keeps blinking even when I put it in four wheel low! It doesnt...

Hi. I think you better stay home. No car will do 2 feet of snow.
Unless you know a snowplow driver that is willing to drive you...
Not even 4x4 will do 4 1/2 feet. My advice is stay home till roads are good.

Suburban 4 hign does not work but 4 lo does

I have had maybe 9 Suburbans, over the years. Whenever I put in 4WD (whether Lo or Hi), I drive
normally. THEN, when DISENGAGING, I always drive the vehicle in REVERSE maybe 75 yards
AFTER placing in 2WD mode. Sometimes, still, on my '96 Suburban, --- even though the manual says NOT REQUIRED, it will "stick" in 4WD, UNLESS I take above action. Hope this might help.

1993 4X4 BLASER 4WHEEL DRIVE

Your blazer is equipped with a shift on the fly four wheel drive. That means that at speeds less than fifteen miles per hour you can shift into or out of four wheel drive by simply pushing the four wheel high button. If you wish to shift into four wheel low. Stop, put the transmission into park or neutral, and push the four wheel low button. Same procedure for shifting back out. Never shift into or out of four wheel low while moving. And be careful in four wheel low. At full throttle your still barely moving, you don't want to blow your engine up!
