I have a 2004 Chevy Venture. All if a duffin my passenger side window stopped working. It will not operate from either side. Also the for lock button does not work on that side but the driver side button will activate the lock on that side. My driver side window works fine. We have tested the motor (put power directly to it) and the window will move. Also when we stuck a test light in the door lock button it activated the lock on that side. We replaced all of the switches and still nothing. Every so often if you push the passenger window button on the driver side it will move for a split second. I'm going crazy!! Any ideas where the problem is? I have torn off both door panels and lifted the carpet but don't see any obvious write corrosion. HELP!!

It could be a short in the harness between the door and the body.
Or it could be a problem with the switch in the door, but I doubt it.
You would need to get a wiring diagram and a meter or test light and find out which wires are hot and which are not to troubleshoot it.

SOURCE: Power Door Lock Problem

The last post by maddog1321 was exactly what I had with my right rear door. The electric locks would not lock and unlock, and you almost couldn't do it manually without my feeling I was about to break something. I took the door panel off, oiled everything and got no relief. Finally, I saw the above post and drilled out the aft-most pop-rivet. THE WINDOW WORKED PERFECTLY! I didn't drill out the forward (closest to the handle) pop-rivet because I wanted to do one at a time so the solenoid would not fall out of place. I then put a new pop-rivet in place of the one I drilled out. I then reinstalled everything and the locks work like new.

SOURCE: passenger power window does not work 2002 Silverado HD Ext Cab

REMOVE THE DOOR PANEL TO GET TO THE WINDOW MOTOR. REMOVE THE CONNECTOR ON THE MOTOR. LOOP A TEST LIGHT FROM BOTH TERMINALS. WITH THE KEY ON AND BOTH SWITCHES IN PLACE, CHECK TO OPERATION OF THE SWITCHES. IF THE LIGHT COMES ON IN BOTH DIRECTION THE WINDOW MOTOR IS BAD.

THERE IS A CIRCUIT BREAKER BUILT INTO THE WINDOW MOTOR. SOMETIME HITTING THE MOTOR WITH MAKE THE CIRCUIT BREAKER RESET BUT THE MOTOR WONT LAST LONG DOING THAT.

ALSO TRY PULLING DOWN ON THE WINDOW WHILE TRYING THE SWITCHES. THE WINDOW COULD JUST BE STUCK. THIS HAPPENED TO ME.

Testimonial: "Thanks, BB1BUD. I ended up replacing the entire regulator with a part I ordered online. So far so good."

SOURCE: door locks and power window

Just did this procedure I got from coloradofans.com forums:

"any type of power/voltage change seems to trigger this issue

The most common symptom is power locks fail and only the driver window quits, however that is on the extended cab.

Steps to fix and it works every time.

take door panel off driver's door
Disconnect the wiring attached to window and power lock control unit
disconnect battery cables
connect the negative to the positive cable(((NO BATTERY CONNECTED)))
This will act to short residual voltage in the system

5 minutes later
place the key in the ignition and turn to the run position
connect the wiring to the window/lock controller
connect the negative cable to the battery
then the positive
open drivers side door
turn key to the off position((do not remove yet)) you should get a series of dings through speakers telling you the key is still in the ignition
once it begins dinging pull the key out and you should hear the door lock solenoids trigger and the windows should work." - Coloradofans.com forums

I have a 2004 Chevy venture passenger window won't go up or down what could it be

Have you tried the drivers door "passenger door window switch" and the passenger "door window switch" to try and roll the passenger window up?When you do try to roll it up make sure the vehicle is running as you want the most voltage to the window motor. If both door switches would not roll the window up,try the following.
With the engine running hit the up window switch on the passenger door just as you give the door a HARD FIRM RAP.The window should roll up.It may take a few tries.DO NOT roll the window back down until you have changed or dissembled the window motor for a good cleaning. Also, check for broken wires at the door hinge area on both the drivers and passenger sides, pull each wire firmly looking for a broken wire.

I have a 2004 Chevy Venture. All of a sudden my passenger side window stopped working. It will not operate from either side. Also the door lock button does not work on that side but the driver side button...

Sounds like the passenger side window motor has a bad connection or is shorted internally. There should be a motor plug in connector for the passenger side, as they are multiprong, it is possible for one part to work and the other not to work.

Unplug the wiring connector for the lock/motor and use a tester to see if the signal is consistent from the buttons you are using. One thing that is a little of a disadvantage is having the door open to work on the wires and closed for real world operation. A broken wire may wiggle to work when the doorjam is open and fail when the door is closed.

When the window seals start leaking on the outside glass, the rain can drip onto the motor. Also cracked solder is a common failure when motors go bad.

Passenger side automatic window switch is not working in my 2004 Chevy Aveo. The window is operational from the driver's side master switch but not the passenger side. Im thinking its a fuse or a relay,...

Make sure the window lockout button is not depressed on the master window switch. This will turn off the other switches and not let them control there respective windows.

Power is supplied to all the windows from one fuse and one relay. So if the master switch operates the window than we know the fuses and relays are o.k. We know the master switch will operate the window so that tells us the window motor and ground side of the passenger window motor circuit are also good.

Which leaves us with a bad switch or no power to the switch. The passenger window switch gets its power to operate independently from the master switch window lockout button. When the button is off power is supplied to the passenger switch and allows the passenger to operate the window themselves.

The only thing you need to do is check for power at the passenger switch on the brown wire with orange stripe. If there is power there then you have a bad switch.

It sounds like you've got a broken wire on the drivers side door. Usually this occurs at the flex point of the wiring harness. Peel back the outer covering carefully exposing the wires inside. Repair any broken or those about to break. Solder & retape or shrink rap with heat gun.Hope this helps. Good luck!
