Bought a 1992 acura vigor and found horn fuse missing. when I replaced the fuse alarm goes off and constantly sounds. how do I stop it? I've read that there's a relay somewhere under the hood

Instead of relay I should have said alarm relay. Horn sounds and lights flash.

Horn relay located on the right side kick panel, you will see a row of relays,if horn relay is okay, more likely your horn control pad has a short inside causing horn button contacts to stick causing horn to keep blowing.

SOURCE: Acura MDX A/C won't come on

I went to an Acura dealer to buy the transistor for the rear A/C unit. The service advisor told me that the problem with the front A/C was probably due to a defective front transistor / resistor. I bought that part too.

The front transistor is located next to the blower motor under the dash on the passenger's side. It is secured by three or four small bolts. The one on the bottom left is very close to the carpet and the most difficult to get off and put back on.

The rear transistor is located behind the carpeted trim panel on the center console (driver's side). The carpeted trim panel is secured by clips only - there are no screws, so remove it carefully starting at the side near the accellerator pedal. Once the panel has been removed, reach inside a small hole in the metal frame to access the rear transistor. It is removed by twisting it and pulling it out. The hole in the frame is small and you might find pliers helpful.

After replacing both parts, the front and rear A/C are working. Apparently these transistors are common failures. If the A/C is out in your Acura MDX and the fuse checks good, a new transistor will likely solve your problem.

Check for brake fluids and make sure all the brake fluid container is closed tightly. Also, you make have to bleed the brakes.

SOURCE: Can you disable car alarm in 1991 Acura Legend by

If it's a cheap aftermarket alarm, check for a red wire coming off the hot side of your battery with an inline fuse. If it's not, try to locate the alarm "computer" under the driver's side dash or nearby your fuse panel. You'll find a black box with a wiring diagram glued to the side, normally strapped to a wiring harness or other fixed element. If this is the type of alarm you have, you'll need to trace each wire coming from the alarm computer and unclip each fastener that's clipped to your vehicle's factory wiring. The trouble with these types of alarms is that they can get power from a number of sources (stereo, interior lights, etc.). Good luck with this one!

Alarm activated everytime I use the key to open the door.

very common issue with the vigor, it`s the power door actuator or something...there are 2 ways to fix it:

- the harder way (unless you`re half-decent at DIY car stuff, which I`m not), all you really are doing is cleaning the contacts..a detailed guide is here
http://www.acuravigorclub.com/Timely-Topics/Timely1202.htm

- OR the easy way is to just trick your car into thinking the hood is open so the alarm will never arm itself. Taken from another post:

You can effectively permanently disable the alarm (who actually bothers to respond when they hear a car alarm anyways?) by opening up the hood and finding the little switch that detects whether the hood is closed. Just bend this so that the alarm system always thinks the hood is open and the alarm system will never arm even if you lock the doors.
