I have a 1999 Acura 3.2 TL with 135,000 miles, automatic transmission. I just started having a problem with the car shutting off going at any speed but then being able to restart it once in park. However, now it is shutting off at the gas station or going at high-way speeds and not starting again. However it is turning over just not starting/firing unless (and I am very lucky) I floor the gas.

I have the same exact model (1999 3.2 Acura TL) 165,000 miles with the same exact problem. According to the dealership, the transmission has failed. Yet, other mechanics state that it is just the sensor. All I know is that the car will just shut off at any given time. As the other person wrote, when it does crank back up, I floor it. I have spent SO much money on repairs and rental cars, I am ready to just pitch this car. I've only had it for a year and a half. I am a die-hard Acura fan, but I don't know what it is about the 1999 TLs. Does anyone have more information on the recall that Acura did? Was it for the TL? Should I put any more money into this car? Thanks for your help!
I Hvae the same problem with my 2001 acura 3.2cl. i tried replacing the ignition switch but that didnt fix it.
I also had the same problem with Acura 1999 TL with 132000 on it and I belive this has nothing to do with the transmission. I just replace the ignition switch and it runs great. The dealer charged me like $223.00
