I want to have my standard cam reprofiled to a 272 degree cam on my 1999 Opel Kadett 200iS 8 VALVE. Should I do this to keep the OEM cam durability and gain extra power? Will the car be "heavy" on fuel, etc etc.? I have an aftermarket 57mm freeflow exhaust and branches fitted.
What ever the grind you are after a low lift long duration is best
it produces more usable torque, prevents valve bounce
to get more performance there will be a loss of economy and the more power the less economy
basically fitting a turbo kit will produce a lot more power
the essence to cheap power is to get the engine to breath properly both at the inlet and exhaust
best talk with speed specialist engine shops as much can be gained for little cost it is put together right
SOURCE: Do you recommend bosch super 4 spark plugs for a 1999 opel kadett 200iS 8 valve?
Absolutely not
You always use, only what came with the vehicle,
when it was new
Those 4 prong & E3 type plugs, will not work
in some vehicles, especially those with COP
Individual Coils
