This is very typical and requires a reset - the dealer will have exact instructions which involve inserting the key, turning it, to different key positions. Then if you require inspection you must drive the car exactly per instructions or the computer will not be able to read enough info for codes to pass. It sounds worse than it is! Happy New Year, don’t pay someone to do this it’s too easy. Or AAA might help...
Try another key it sounds like the imoblizer

If you brought your car to Honda for service, they probably forgot to reset the maintenance reminder. If you took it to another shop, they probably did not know how to reset it. Anyway, the reset procedure is:
Put your key in the ignition
Turn the key to the II position for a couple of seconds
Then turn the key to the off position
Now push and hold in the odometer reset button
While still holding the odometer reset button, turn the key back to the II position
Hold for I think 10 seconds or so and your maintenance reminder light should reset it self.

If you live near an AutoZone they used to offer free check engine light diagnostics.
See what code they can retreive from the computer with their device and check it against the list of codes. It may not just be a missing Gas cap code. There are hundreds of codes computers can return.
Best Wishes.

This is a typical Honda problem. unfourtunatly their design on the transmissions are not the best. Most of the times when you have a flashing light on the shifter on a honda it is the beginning of an internal transmission problem, not a major one but most likley one of the solonoids in it. just for future reference to you make sure to keep your trans fluid changed on the recommend mileage because they do have an internal filter that is extremley common for plugging up and giving a no shift condition. Hope this helps. swiftautorepairs.com
