The last time turning off the headlights helped.. other times turning off airconditioner helped. It was checked briefly at a Honda Dealership and the battery was good.. Was told the dash would have to be removed.. I would like to know how long and how expensive it is to replace and if I would be better off to trade it in on a newer model.
Wow...air conditioner? Hmmm. It sounds to me that your headlight switch is going out (bad contacts). Since your vehicle is 1995 the contacts can easily go bad after this much time (22 years). While I have not replaced one myself, I would check with other shops and find out what they would charge. Removing the dash seems unreasonable to me since the switch is on the column. Invest a little money to have a shop troubleshoot the problem (may charge you $60 - $75/hr). Dealerships are notorious for over-charging for repairs.
-Sounds like it has bad ground.
-Check it out and tight or redone the main ground.
You should be good to go.
Good Luck

SOURCE: DRL and High Beam do not work right on Honda Accord EX 1998
Some time back I found some data on a similar website suggesting that the Day Light Running circuit board, just under the steering column, developed cracks in some of the soldered joints. Your high beams should also be affected with loss of day light running lights.
Resoldering repaired the continuity of the circuits. Ours is now working quite reliably. Some of the defective areas developed slight brownish discoloration, that's how I was told to recognise the areas to be resoldered. Hope this will help you solve your problem.

possibility of a dimmer switch malfunction, did you check all the fuses under the dash and also under the hood. check thuroughly because you might have missed one.
And where your dimmer switch is, us a stanely knife on the corner and it should pop out.. peice of cake, the dimmer has 2 wires in it so you can take a volts tester to see if it gets current when your head lights are on. Alos if it is getting current only on 1 side you can bypass it for another test by just running a wire from both points.
Does your other dash peices light up like your ac controlls and your clock?
if so it might be part of the dash cluster has just burnt out, bulb wise and 3-4 screws around the cluster and it pulls out also. All hondas are like legos and they come apart Very simpley.
If it isnt either of those, then you might have a bad MFS witch is shot for multi function switch and it is the lever that controlls your lights. Its expensive to replace though and is a hastle to remove from the steering coloum to test.
Get yourself a volts, oms tester and check the dimmer switch 1st.
if thats alright then test with the wire.
if thats alright then check the back lights behind your cluster for burtn out bulbs,
and if all that looks good your down to the fuses might just look good, and the MFS
hope that narrows it down for you
Good Luck!
SOURCE: Engine won't start. Dash lights flash rapidly when key turned.
the battery says 12 volts but may be dropping to 4 or 5 under a load...i would suggest jumpstarting the car and see what happens.the battery should read in the high 12 volts and not less than 9.5 under cranking. the dash lights go out on your car when starting, and the alarm will go off ,and disable the ignition if the voltage is too low in cranking the car because the computer will shut it down and activate the anti theft.....check your battery posts are tight. best of luck

it is more than likely a short in the headlight switch. also try the dimmer switch on the dash for the dash lights.
