Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, SRS and BCM faults) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

Legend of Abbreviations. ABS Antilock brake system.TCS Traction control system, SRS Supplemental restraint system, BCM Body control module

SOURCE: VW Beetle Airbag Light

The problem is the seatbelt latch. The wiring right at the latch and the strap are broken. Seems there is not enough slack in these wires to allow much stretch. You may be able to repair it if you can splice these wires back together if not about 160 to 170 for a new one. you can have it put on a machine and if the code leads back to the latch then you know this is the problem.

SOURCE: water overheating on a year 2000 seat toledo

When the waterpump goes it useualy makes noise and leaks.Check your antifreeze level.Low levels will also cause overheating.Bad thermostat can also be an issue.Another way to check your waterpump is to see if you have circulation running the engine with the radiator cap off.Rev engine and look down the radiator cap to see if antifreeze is moving.Start the engine with the cap off so presure does't build up.Do this for a short time only or you'll boil over.Keep the heater set to hot to allow heatercore to fill(part of your capacity) of antifreeze.Changing a water pump is not that hard it's a couple of bolts,a gasket, no spescial tools,The belts off and then on are a pain. Before doing the waterpump investigate all of the other factors,Fluid,Thermostat, radiator flush,
and ......
unfortunately Head Gasket Test.Good Luck

SOURCE: 2007 hyundai santa fe

There is a sensor under the seat cushion that is basically a weight sensor, if a certain weight is not sensed then the airbag is turned off, it must be defective.

Airbag warning lights flashing on dashboard of mazda premacy 52 reg can I reset to clear these lights myself?

there are a quite a few problems associated with the airbag light flashing. The light will flash in long and short frequencies, this is a diagnostic code, e.g. two long flashes followed by six short flashes equals code 26, which is clockspring. Other codes are: 46 and 47 connector under seat, 3 power supply etc.

2000 Jetta Airbag warning light came one

If the light is on, there's a fault stored in the computer. You have to get the trouble code to know what's going on. No way to guess your way out of this. Read this post on airbag lights

The airbag light won't turn off on my 2003 Jetta

The front seat buckles have a micro switch in them, you may have to split the plastic off to get t it and then check the wires are not broken and if ok then use electronic contact cleaner and hope it works for you if not the dealer would be glad to sell you the whole assembly

Constant light on dashboard

My '01 TDI had the same issue and apparently it was a switch gone bad behind the horn and airbag. . . so no idea if the airbag would have worked had I been in an accident. Definately worth going to VW and having it looked at though. Better safe than sorry.
