Question about 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
Can disable them by the switch on the headlight switch module . Also the remote key function stopped working at this same time. Another symptom that may be related was that the liftgate unlock would intermittently not unlock until the unlock button was repushed on the interior control or the remote fob control
The Liftgate Module does have something to do with the remote FOBs (it has the receiver for the FOBs) and could also have an effect on the courtesy lights, it senses an open liftgate and sends that info to the Body Control Module (BCM). An area of common problems are the wires in the rubber boot between the body and the liftgate, these wires need to be checked for breakage.

I too found that a small orange wire within the liftgate rubber boot that had broken. I spliced a new wire to the one broken end and fed it through the boot w a coat hanger wire and connected it to the other end of the orange wire. Problem fixed with no cost. I am stoked. Thanks.

Sounds like you have a wiring problem to your liftgate. Check the wires where they come out of the body, and go into the liftgate. If they are good, check fuses, or possibly a module.

If your problem is in all doors I'm probably wrong :)
But..you may find that an inner door jamb spring loaded switch has failed. It works exactly like the one in your fridge does, It triggers power to the light when the spring is out ,.. sometimes it gets stuck in you might just be able to clean and loosen it up.

it sounds as though you've got a wiring problem with your rear liftgate. this would cause the pin switch to think it's still open instead of closed, and the power loss to the wiper assembly. check your fuses first to see if there are any blown. then check and make sure your ground wire for the rear liftgate is clean and tight and not broken.
