Best get down to the shop asap as yer diff is about to blow and is a danger to yourself and other road users as it is a hazard.
Sounds like it is a bad bearing and seal in the differential!
I pretty sure the pinion gear broke. Usually a popping was rhe teeth on the gear crunching against who knows what. The clue is oil dripping from differantal. In a jam because of all wheel drive the rest of transaxles will take over. If possible is there a single driveshaft to the rear?. Just remove it and use the front drive to get around for a while. The damage is allready done the gears might also have to be replaced along with the pinyon gear. Sorry couldnt be the bearer of better news.

The front stabilizer shaft (sometimes called a sway bar) is mounted to
the top rear of the frame and to the lower control arm. The shaft is
attached to the frame with clamps and rubber insulators and to the
control arms with insulator links.

Had similar problem with 2003 Dodge GC. Replaced the parts you mention + rack & pinion, then to fix the now noticable whining noise, replaced power steering pump and pulley. Fortunately was under an extended warrentee at 46k miles.

Clunking noise in the rear of the vehicle is a broad statement. When is the vehicle doing it? Is it all the time or just over bumps? Is it happening only going around curves? Is it a constant bump that speeds up and slows down with the vehicle speed. You would be supprised how many clunking noises can come from the driveline not the suspension. It could be anything from a bushing to your rear differential getting ready to grenade.

Autoparts store should have them, if not dealer will, and are fairly easy to change. Garage should not charge more than 1/2 hr. labor each.
SOURCE: sway bar bushing and links
It will allow extra sway which will alter your handling in the near future and in time will do damage to the rest of the suspension.
