My 2009 Subaru Forrester LL Bean edition will not start. There are no interior light or dashboard lights. When trying start it there is complete silence.

Check the battery cables, is there any sign of battery acid damage or intrusion? Is the main power distribution box hot (has power to it)?

I have a 2000 Subaru Outback and recently the ABS light came on while driving out to my parents'. When I got there, I called our mechanic and made an appointment for later in the week to have it...

Here is an idea. Check the connections between the battery and the car's ground and the starter. Then find the ground cable which connects the engine to the car and check the connections there as well. Often times odd ball electrical problems are caused by a faulty ground, especially when there is a starter issue. May help, costs nothing but a few moments of your time, and once in a dozen times it is the problem.
