Loud Screeching sound When Turning only on occassion.

I would like to think it is the electric fan behind the radiator that is screeching. When you stop the car, everything should stop, but that fan. That fan is supposed to cool the radiator, even after the engine is off and the car stops. It would not be so bad, because it does not run as much, in cold weather, but in hot weather, it should start sooner and run longer.
I needs to be replaced.

Are you saying the serpentine belt is screeching after the engine starts, or the starter is screeching when you are cranking the engine ?

Sounds like you may have a bad front wheel bearing.

sounds like the pulley bearing is bad and has failed -- remove the belt and try and turn the pulley by hand. if it does not turn ' freely ' and smooth, then replace the pulley.

sounds like it is out of fluid if you fill the fluid then turn the wheel to one side and hold it you will build up pressure and see where it leaking from.

One of the pulleys is not turning. Could be AC, alternator, or one of the idler pulleys.Take a careful look with a good light. My bet is the idler pulley.
