None of the instruments in my dash panel are working...the speedometer is stuck on 0 and the fuel gauge doesn't move and neither does the RPM gauge. the car is a 2004 oldsmobile alero 3.4L
I have a 2004 Alero and the same thing happened to me today. All the instruments, odometer, speedometer, RPM, fuel, and Temp. gage were all on "0". I was able to drive and the lights worked. When I got home I was going to check the fuse box but I turned the key and started the car again, all the gages then were working . Has any one any idea why this happening and if it is going to lead into another major issues? \

with the needles off and the scanner set to calibrate the speedometer and all the rest of the needles need to be installed at 1/2 full range with the system on unless otherwise noticed by the scanner.
That is a manufacturing defect associated with your instrument cluster. My local dealer replaced my entire instrument cluster for free (truck was out of warranty) when my speedometer showed 100 mph in a parking lot and my oil pressure gauge read 0.
The stepping motors in the gauge go bad, but uusually they fail gradually, or just one, The dealer charges $300 to fix, do a search on ebay for CHEVY SILVERADO INSTRUMENT CLUSTER for cheaper repair options. gauges are powered by the pcm, no fuses inbetween, so if it runs ok, problem is in cluster
