When I drive it it shifts hard, then when you stop at astop sign it vibrates harshly after that it drive ok.one thing i noticed was the belt,it haslost its elasticity.could that be it?
I doubt the serpentine belt would cause such issues, but if its real loose and hasnt been changed in the last couple of years, it may well be worth the time to change it.
Now, the harsh shifting may be a solenoid issue in the transmission. I believe (If you have a 1999 Bonneville) that you have the 3800 Series II V6 and a 4T65E transmission. There is a solenoid in the transmission that is called a PCS or Pressure Control Solenoid. Its a common issue with those transmissions and when they start to go out it will cause harsh shifts.
I am good friends with a guy that rebuilds these transmission for a living and he could probably give you WAY more details than I could.
If you like, you can check out www.grandprixforums.net. The guy on there goes by Trannyman95 and if you join that forum and post up your issue he frequents enough there that he will probably see it and give you more help on what the issue could be.
You need to get it in and have the trasnmission checked...it sounds bad
