SOURCE: 2000 chevy silverado cylinder 2 is misfiring

Hello there, I would start by removing the plug from cylinder #2 and check it condtion, I would then verify that spark is or is not getting to that cylinder. If spark is present and the plug looks good, turn the engine over and verify both of these with the plug laying on the valve cover. So if coil is good and plug is good, then it leaves fuel or fuel control issue. A faulty or clogged injector could cause this issue. Let me know how you make out, I'd be glad to assit you farther if need be. Thank you for using fixya.com

SOURCE: 99 chev silverado 4.3L hesitation

After speaking with a couple mechanics and doing some research of my own I found that if your engine still hesitates even after a good tune-up then odds are it’s your Oxygen Sensor(s) or in rare cases your mass air flow sensor. My check engine light never came on though, except a couple times when I washed my undercarriage, which caused my engine to hesitate even stronger but would go away in about 2 days; I guess after everything dried out. I’m changing all four of them, its time anyway; apparently they only last for about 60K miles and I’m pushing 104K. Not sure if this will help anyone else but good luck!

SOURCE: Engine code: Misfire cylinder 1. Replaced plugs

There should be no built up fuel or oil in cylinder. The fuel will be burned off immediately, and there should have been very little unless you have a leaking injector. The only way oil will enter the cylinder is if you have a mechanical failure like worn rings or leaking valve seals. If after replacing the plugs and wires did not correct all or the skip after the first start up and road test then you have another issue causing the skip

Flashing engine light on ford freestar, engine is running very rough at higher rpm

A flashing engine light usually indicates a misfire or several misfires. If the ignition components (coils, wires, distributors...) some how become exposed to moisture it is possible to get a rough running engine due to misfire(s) cause by arcking.

02 chevy 2500hd 6.0 ses light flashing at40mph an gose out at 75mph

The SES light flashing means the engine management software has detected a misfire condition resulting in exceeding 3 times the federal limit of emissions. Under heavy load such as acceleration one or more cylinders are misfiring and once cruising speed is reached the engine is under a lighter load (10 to 20 percent ) that is why it stops flashing several causes of misfires are worn spark plugs ,spark plug wires, faulty ignition coil or coils fuel injector or fuel pressure problems a quick check of the computer to retrieve trouble codes should identify the problem cylinder or cylinders and will direct you in the right direction to find the faulty component but will not tell you exactly what is wrong certain test must be performed to isolate the cause.

Ck engine light is on and miss fire #5

There are few possibilities that can cause engine misfire issues. It can be issue with spark plugs or faulty spark plugs. Also get the compression test done for cylinders. If any of cylinder shows low compression then required, then that particular cylinder will cause misfire.

Also get obd codes scanned, the error code will let you know which cylinder is misfiring or all cylinders are misfiring.

Vehicle missing,shaking,engine light comes on

Misfire could be a number of things:
a) spark plugs - change them if used over 15K miles - inspect/regap.
b) spark plug wires - change them if over 15K miles - inspect
c) ECM (electronic control module) - test with HEI (high energy ignition) tester.

The shaking tells me that the engine is running on less than its normal compliment of cylinders - the shaking is produced by the imbalance caused in the engine by one (or more) cylinder(s)
not firing at all.

The "Check Engine" light probably is coming on due the the misfire condition. Go to Pep Boys or
Advance Auto Pats, where they'll tell you (free) your codes causing the "Check Engine' light to be
lit - the code coming from your truck's computer will probably be one or more of:
P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder misfire detected
P0301 - Cylinder 1 misfire detected
P0302 - Cylinder 2 misfire detected
P0303 - Cylinder 3 misfire detected
P0304 - Cylinder 4 misfire detected
P0305 - Cylinder 5 misfire detected
P0306 - Cylinder 6 misfire detected
P0307 - Cylinder 7 misfire detected
P0308 - Cylinder 8 misfire detected
P0313 - Misfire detected with low fuel

*Owner of Mecedes C230 Model 2004. 271 engine. Done 85K miles * Check engine light come on when speed at around 135km & misfiring. * Switch off & restart the engine, is ok but misfiring again...

I know what the problem is. It's going to cost u about $25,000 to fix the problem. Just buy a new car and dump that crappy piece of metal in a river. Mercedes Benz will never be on my wish list ever again. Even the mechanics can't figure out the problem with my check engine light after I pay $2,000 for a check engine light service. They F***** it up even more. My car now is in line to get a heart transplant because it's dying.

Have misfire, code P0316, any ideals? 86,000 miles on

2004 Marauder and 2003-2004 Mustang vehicles built before 12/19/2004 equipped with 4.6L 4V/5.4 4V engine may exhibit a runs rough, lacks power, and engine misfire, prompted by a MIL light and DTC codes P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306, P0307, P0308, and P0316.
ACTION
Diagnose engine for engine misfire concern. If diagnostics determine an engine misfire which is characterized by leakage through exhaust valve(s), only replace the affected cylinder head(s).
SERVICE PROCEDURE FOR VEHICLES WITH RUNS ROUGH/MISFIRE CONDITION:
1. Perform relative compression check on all cylinders. If abnormal, check cylinder leakage and actual compression for "low" cylinders refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 303-00.
2. If leakage/compression check indicates a valve train concern, per valve train diagnostics in WSM, Section 303-00, replace cylinder head and cam assembly, pipe plugs and timing chain tensioner, per procedure outlined in WSM, Section 303-01.
3. If cylinder leakage and compression tests are inconclusive, perform misfire diagnostic, per TSB 05-22-8.

Hi, my first recommendation would be to take the plugs out and visually inspect each one and check to make sure they are properly gapped, if they look fouled at all i would replace them without hesitation. try throwing a set of NGK plugs in the car to fix the misfires. other than that you may want to look at the wires. good luck joe

Random multiple misfirings

Here is a list of possible causes. You should not drive the vehicle if the check engine light is flashing all the time, you can cause even more damage. It could pay to have a professional find the real cause.

Spark plugs that are incorrect for the application, cracked, improperly gaped or worn can cause the engine to misfire or run rough at all times.
An IC module that failed to correctly control the ignition coil(s) will cause the engine to misfire or run rough at all times.
Poor connections, broken wiring or wiring that has shorts to ground can cause the engine to misfire or run rough at all times. NOTE: Check connectors that might be pulled apart as the engine flexes or wires that short to ground as they pass near brackets or shorts to ground on the exhaust manifold.
Fuel injector(s) that are shorted, plugged or partially restricted can cause the engine to misfire or run rough at all times.
An ignition coil(s) that has low output, corrosion on the coil tower(s), is carbon tracked or arcs to ground will cause the engine to misfire or run rough at all times.
A PCM that failed to properly control the injector or ignition timing will cause the engine to misfire or run rough at all times.
