Engine Life Warning Light Reset

I can't get the engine oil life warning light to reset. Any tricks? It says to just hit the reset button when the warning comes up, but it just scrolls to the next warning when I hit reset during a system check, and just shuts it off when the warnign comes on when I start the car. Then the warning is still there during the next system check or the next time I start the car.

I meant "Engine OIL Life Wanring Light Reset" in that title.

Thanks Ronnie, oh so helpful you cartoon. For any other mentally challenged surfers, I'll state the obvious: I changed the oil before trying to reset the warning light.

Reset maint req light

You need to scroll to the oil life selection, on your odometer. When it reaches the oil life, hold the button in until the display flashes. Then press it again and it should reset to 100% oil life. Try it with the engine running. If that doesn't work, try it with the ignition on and engine not started ( dash warning lights lit).

Oil warning light is still on after having the oil change, how do i reset the oil warning light ? /

The oil warning light indicates no oil pressure, changing the oil would not affect the light. You should not drive the car if this light is on, because if it is operating correctly, you will ruin your engine. The car should be checked immediately, and not driven until the cause of the light being on is determined.
good luck, and let me know the outcome. countrycurt0
