Wasn't having any problems with my truck until it was towed. Now I can't get it to start. Lights come on but doesn't even crank. Is there something with the antitheft ignition that I need to do to get the truck to start??? I know the key has an antitheft chip in it but wouldn't think this would cause this kind of problem since I'm using the original key.

Hi,
I am not allowed to provide instructions to bypass an antitheft system, I am sorry.
But I can tell you that it ist not simple to be done,I think it´s even impossible to override the system of your car. The reason is that the immobilizer is included in the engine control module, so there is no way to bypass the system.
The easiest -and cheapest- way is to order a new key or tow the car to the next Ford Branch to program the existing key.

The
most commonly diagnosed component is the shifter and/or shifter solenoid on your Impala.
GM issued a bulletin on this problem. Contact your dealer, they are aware of the problem and you could be covered under warranty. Below is a copy of the bulletin.
