Honda accord 1993/4 the abs light comes on after driving about 1 mile. Ive had the car to the Honda dealer they said it was the rear wheel sensor. I have another Honda accord 1997 the ABS is working fine. So I swapped the rear wheel sensor again after driving 1 mile the light came on.I have now noticed that I cannot hear the ABS pump. I have tried to bleed the system, when I first opened the bleed nipple the fluid ejected went beyond the front of the car.I think this was due to an air lock or the accumalator is at fault along with the pump. I have also changed the ABS controller. all to no avail. I have got a replacement unit and need to know the procedure for bleeding the ABS unit. Also where can I get an ABS scanner tool. an help will be very much appreciated.ps the only id on the pump body is ''SM4-ZO.
Hi, The problem is the solonoids inside the modulator are stuck, all you need to do is!!! Clear the code, than drive car while no abs light is on than lock the car a few times on wet road. The will help to free up the solonoids. Do this about 10 times, brake fluid is the only parts needed!!! Call me at 302 529 7888 if you like!!! Dave
Did you disconnect your engine battery and wait a couple of minutes to reboot computer so it can recognize any new hard ware in stalled??hope this helps

Anytime the abs light is on it will disable the abs system. What you need to do is jump the 2 pin blue connector under right side of dash with a paper clip.Turn ignition switch on and count the blinks of the abs light. Most likely is a damaged or shorted abs wheel speed sensor which is most common. Here what the connector looks like that you need to jump....
If your ABS light tunr on, is telling you there is an issue with the abs pump itself. It could be possibly failing or just air bound but theses are known to leak .You need to check the pump next.
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate

well first of all, the mechanic you took it to was not a good one because he did unnecessary work to your car by changing the master cylinder, second, a good mechanic will know how to fix your abs, by replacing damaged speed sensors or abs computer. but my recommendation is that unless you have a lot of money or brake very hard frequently, that it is not a big deal because abs only comes in when you have to brake hard, and even without abs, your regular brakes work fine. abs does not come standard on all cars, including some new basic cars don't have abs. if you do take it to a shop, it should cost no more than 300 dollars to fix it, considering you have a trustworthy mechanic, if you like to get dirty and do it your self, you can google "92 accord abs computer", and a couple of forums come up on how to diagnose and correct the problem. so if money is tight, you can ignore this problem as it is a "luxury" feature any ways. my car has the same problem and ive had my car for 3 years with no brake problems at all. and if it makes you feel more comfortable, my friend has a 92 accord and his has no abs even from factory so like i said, it is just a "luxury" feature, and you should have no braking problems at all. just be safe when you drive, and you should be fine. hope this helps, good luck
ABS failures are common in the Honda Accord and the Honda Odyssey, especially during the 1995-1997 years. You will find that your ABS light will come on intermittently and then go out. Finally, the light will come on and stay on until the system is replaced. Honda has been charging owners about $1500 to replace the modulator and accumulator. Honda maintains that this is not a problem that is widespread. The Honda owners' notes show that the problem usually happens betwee n 50,000 miles and 100,000 miles. There is a buzzing associated with the system failing, too.-------------- try bleeding the ABS brake pump and check. You must bleed the abs pump, then reset the abs computer by removing the ABSB2 fuse.--------------

You probably have an intermittent failure due to dirty ABS sensors or dirt/buildup in the hall effect rings.
These will look like gears on the back sides of the wheel hubs. The sensors are bolted in the same area, pointed at the gear wheels.
There should be one at each wheel. You can clean them with brake cleaner and a soft (garbage) tooth brush.
While doing this, check your brake fluid level and check it for clarity, as well. Contamination may not make the ABS light come on, but it will/does affect your braking capacity.
It can be several things the ABS moduator, wheel sensors... I would bring it to the dealer and have them diagnose it, they will then retrieve the Abs DTC that your car is giving and pinpoint the problem, this will probably be cheaper than guessing and hoping replacing things will fix the problem!
You need to check the sections on the abs ring for damage and rust contamination. Thoroughly clean the ring and gaps to make sure tha sensor is getting the correct count per revolution. Also check for play in the bearing which can cause a fluctuation in readings, especialyy if really loose.
it can store one code or all codes at a time.disconnect the battery for 5 min.this will clear the memory.after reconnecting the battery if the abs light comes back on when driving then there is another problem.most times it is either the sensor or the wiring.
