No engine cranck, no warning lights

At first it would crank and start for about two seconds and die, I disconnected the battery to try to reset it and after that it did not crank or do anything anymore. Checked the battery and it was good. No warning lights or any of the niddles would move when I try to crank engine. Thank you before hand

Forgot to add that I took it to a Mechanic and they couldn't figure it out and told me to take it to the dealer.

Check solenoid on starter motor.

A quick fix which works on occasion when solenoid hasn't completely failed is to strike the starter motor body with a hammer whilst trying to start.

Check power to solenoid with the key turned to crank position.

No power to solenoid? Check steering lock cluster, relay and fuses.

Do you have a flashing key on the instrument cluster? Change or re-program the ignition key

If you have no warning lights, no power to solenoid then check negative terminal fixing from battery.

If all is well, yet no crank, then replace starter motor and solenoid.

SOURCE: Engine turns over but wont start

Check the cam sensor and crankshaft sensor. If either of these are defective the engine will not start or may start intermittenly.

This is a bad PCM. Try to disconnect the security system first and if it still does not start then it is the PCM.

If you live in a colder climate and you keep your vehicle in a garage, you might have condensation in your tank and your pump might be sucking water (condensation builds) Heet wont hurt your vehicle and works pretty well to get rid of water and ice build up. in my opinion the red (ISO HEET) bottle works better than the yellow.

1999 Chevy Blazer. It won't start and run. It will crank when first trying to start, then dies.

Question edited for clarity and fix typo.
Question moved to model category.

'Cranking' is purely the engine turning over. It cranks, almost starts and then it does nothing next time you turn the key? Flat battery.

Or, you turn the key, it cranks, fires and almost starts and then dies? More reasons for that scenario. Check for diagnostic trouble codes. Did you disconnect the battery when you replaced the fuel pump? Did it work after that? Does it have an engine immobilizer and did you reset it after the disconnect?

Can someone scan it for codes ? Pending codes may not set a light .

1999 Jeep Wrangler is not recognizing transponder key after battery disconnect. Starts and then dies. Does key go bad ? Or is it likely the computer ?

Sounds like you just need a sensor reset. If it starts and dies, it is not the key. That sensor wouldn't even allow it to crank over, let alone start. So the key sensor is off the table. Since it starts, then dies in 5-10 seconds, it has to be a fuel delivery problem. I'm unsure of a test procedure here.

Year make and model helps. Resetting the security is 10 minutes on and 30 seconds off. then start.

88 isuzu 4x4 Truck 2.6L. Starts then dies in 2 sec on cold start.

I would try cleaning the throttle valve body and also the automatic idle speed control valve mounted to the throttle body, this is a common symptom of a dirty throttle valve and idle speed control valve. Use a product called "CRC" Throttle valve cleaner, run the engine and spray it into the air intake of the engine with the supply hose removed, hold the throttle up while you do this as it will try to stall, use up about half the can and then shut it down and disconnect the battery NEGATIVE cable for 5 min's to reset the system learned strategy, drive it for a few days and see if this corrects the problem.

How to reset ecu on 07 chevy hhr

Try disconnecting battery for about 20 min then reconnect. Then turn the key to the on position but do not start it for about 15 seconds, then turn the key off, then try starting it. This should reset the computer.

1992 acura,my car wont start, not even cranck . head lights, and dashboard work, but dont cranck.

What happenes when you try to jump start the vehicle? If it starts - then it is most likely the battery or alternator. If it doesn't start then the solenoid or the starter or the engine. To get it down to the starter or engine - disconnect the serpentine belt and turn the crankshaft with a wrench. If it turns - then it is your starter/solenoid.

2006 corolla- check engine light comes on. i replaced the battery (old) and i reconnect it it runs fine for about a minute no warning lights then shuts off check engine light is lit and will crank but not...

Does it run for a full minute or start then shut off within a few seconds?
If the latter, then it sounds like the anti-theft system has kicked in and needs to be reset.
