The window control on the driver side for the driver side window will roll down, but it will not roll up easy. Sometimes if I push the bottom of the switch down with one finger and pull up and to the left with the lever switch it works. I figure I need to replace the whole master switch control thing. I found the part online, now I'm wondering if I could replace it without removing the entire driver side door panel. Would anyone be able to guide me on how to replace this part? I am no expert on auto repair, but I can follow directions.
You are correct, the switch is broke internally and your have to replace the Switch Assembly. There are 2 ways, taking the Door Panel OFF and then unplugging it from the rear and then it will pop out much easier and less opportunity to do damage to the door panel itself as you can see if it is screwed into position or just retaining clips (metal springs) that you just push down (Slide to the Rear and then the top pulls out ) or if it is held in place by phillips screws... if you go to Ebay and look carefully at the Master Switch, if they flip over the Pics, then you can see if they are Spring or Screw in type. www.car-part.com has these switches if you want to purchase a used switch or www.ebay has them also for less money and sometimes you get them from a dealer for less.

If you are getting the door ajar message you don't have to rplace the switch. Just spray it out good in the latch area with WD40. This will clean the switch contacts and make the message go away. I was a former Lincoln/Mercury mechanic and I used to see this problem on a daily basis. This was the Ford fix for this problem and the one I used on my own 98 mark VIII.

Window motors & regulators go bad every day. Pull your door panel, unplug the motor, if you have an ohm meter apply the leads to the leads into the motor. One will be ground the other two will raise and lower (reverse) the motor. If you show resistance between the leads the motor windings are good and the problem may be the window regulator. If you do not have an ohm meter, you can run two wires (one ground, the other hot) and test the motor by applying elec to it.

If your other switches don't work, and the master is not locked, you need a new master as it is keeping the others from working.

USUALLY POWER WINDOW PROBLEMS ARE ONE OF THREE THINGS. 1. SWITCH 2. MOTOR 3. WINDOW REGULATOR. THE MOST COMMON PROBLEM THE LEXUS HAS IS THE MASTER SWITCH IN THE DRIVERS DOOR. IT CAN ALSO AFFECT THE OPERATION OF THE PASSENGER DOOR SWITCH....IF WINDOW REGULATOR IS BAD YOU WILL HEAR SOME CRAZY NOISES COMING OUT OF DOOR PANEL...VERY OBVIOUS.... FOLLOW THIS CLOSELY...STARE AT A LITE DOME LIGHT USUALLY WITH DOOR OPEN...WHEN YOU PRESS WINDOW SWITCH, IF THERE IS ANY DIMING OF DOME LIGHT....MOTOR IS BAD. IF DOME LIGHT STAYS THE SAME BRIGHTNESS... SWITCH IS BAD... EXCEPT IN THE CASE SOME HACKER HAS BEEN IN THE DOOR PANEL BEFORE ...IT DOES TAKE A SPECIAL TALENT TO REMOVE DOOR PANELS WITHOUT BREAKING THINGS AND EVEN MORE TALENT TO REPLACE WINDOW REGULATORS
