Need to find replacement part and am having a great deal of difficulty. The fuel line between the fuel tank and the fuel filter has sprung a leak. Obviously it needs replacing, but I am having a great deal of trouble finding the part. Is there another term used to describe this fuel line? Maybe if I knew what the proper terminology is I could find the part.
Sound like fuel pump feed line rupture if fuel leaking out like a water hose to a out side faucet.
Fuel line is about it. Any part for a volvo is extremely hard to find. Where exactly is it leaking at? If it is a plastic type hose you should be able to look in the ends and there are o rings in there that can be replaced versus changing out the whole hose. If it is a metal one most auto part stores can make a new one. I might be able to find the oem part number for you and then you can google the number to find the hose. Let me know if you are interested in that.

Try volvopartswebstore-this link might have what you need, although I'd start from their home page and put in all your own engine information to make sure you get the right part. There are other OEM sites with competitive prices, including tascaparts. Or a dealer can pull up these type of diagrams for you.
I'd also try matthewsvolvosite.com, which has an incredible forum for S70s / 850s.

SOURCE: Where is fuel filter on 1998 Volvo S70 non turbo?
the fuel filter is located underneath the rear passenger seat next to the canister box (the canister looks more like an air filter box housing. All you need is an 1/2 inch key to loosen one screw and pull on one end of the hose/tube to release it from the fuel filter. Pull opposite the unit. your best solution is to look to buy it on line so you have an idea as to what you are looking for then check against the info provided to you. I just did mine 15 mins. next to the rear tire. You will need to jack up the rear tire for easy access
