I have taken it to a ford dealer and have been told that the transponder is not working i have been quoted £570 to replace the transponder + the cost of re-chipping the keys.
The main cost they say is locating the transponder in the passenger side of the dash:- Is this correct and if so could i not just disconnect the transponder and rejoin the wires? Please Help
Hi the transponder is the chip in the key my car is the same its the red bit on the key.... and there is a reciver around the ignition barrel where the key go's to start the car its a black circle with 3 or 4 wire's runing to it you can't by pass this but i have been told that some are made with an external P.A.T.S system (Immobiliser system ) but same are built in tio the e.c.u if its external it might be poss to bypass im also so sure you can buy a key coder off the net try googleing it i hope this is a help to you ......
