Immobiliser transponder not working

I have taken it to a ford dealer and have been told that the transponder is not working i have been quoted £570 to replace the transponder + the cost of re-chipping the keys.
The main cost they say is locating the transponder in the passenger side of the dash:- Is this correct and if so could i not just disconnect the transponder and rejoin the wires? Please Help

Ihave a opel corsa 2009 and the key transponder is not working any more how do i start my car. I need to be at work in the morning

The short answer is you can't!

The coded transponder is needed to disarm the immobiliser. There is no quick, easy or cheap method to overcome the problem. If the spare key doesn't work either you will need the dealer or an auto locksmith.

I need to change my battery on a Ford Galaxy 2007 2L TDCI, I know my radio code. I've been told it may affect the alarm/immobiliser system and I may need my keys recoding by the dealer, is this true? Any...

IT is possible that the battery removal will affect the CPU program which controls the immobiliser as some times the power surge on reconnection causes this. Useing a scanner to reset the CPU program should fix the problems

Ford focus 2000 died and wouldnt restart for 10-15 mins after wards

It shouldn't matter if the key is the original or not it has been programmed to the car immobiliser, have you changed the batteries in the key, a low battery can cause the key and immobiliser not to communicate, did you take it to a ford garage, Main dealers are always the best to deal with especially when ECU and immobilisers are involved, there may even be a software update for your car that addresses this issue, may even need a new key but they are expensive, don't buy off eBay they won't work, hope this helps

Hi Bernie
Classic symptoms of transponder fault. Effectively the car is not recognising your key. Try another key if yoiu have one. If same with both keys, then need to check transponder ring and wiring. No bypass I'm afraid....even if there was, could not post due to insurance implications.

2000 ford f150 maybe once a week my truck turns over but will not start ive taken it to the ford dealer and of course it started all week

Try swapping the fuel pump relay for the same size one from the trailer tow adapter ( check owners manual ).
I had similar symptoms with my 2001, and I wrote it off to having the speed pass transponder too close to the key ( triggering the antitheft ).
Try swapping the relay with another ( mark it with a silver marker ) and see if the problem continues.
Also make sure you do not have a RFID transponder on your key ring too close to the key when you start the truck ( another Ford key, speed pass fobs, etc ).

My es300 is not starting - it appears to be immobiliser problem - i have tried both the keys - it has a 1 month old battery and all inside electricals are working ok

your key transponder may be faulty, you would need to take the keys to a dealer and see if they can read the codes from them, if not, the car wont see them either.

If a yellow key symbol is flashing on your dash then this is another indicator of the key failing. If the plip cannot unlock the car either and only the key blade will do it, then the immobiliser may need re-coded to your keys after the battery replacement, or if it has worked since then, and the stopped recently, I would suspect the transponder chip in the key.
