It might be an antifreeze leak. Does the engine running hot? Does it stink? Are there drip marks on the ground below the engine? Then it's probably a leak.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Brake Light Problem -1997 Chevy Lumina

The ground wire in the trunk area, coming from the brake light harness, might have come off or really loose. Hope this will get your lights working again. Best wishes.

Can I replace my dex coolant with regular antifreeze? in my 1997 chevy malibu and how

they say you cant mix different coolants but you can go to auto-zone etc, and buy a cheaper anti-freeze for general motors products. its a 50/50 mix for all gm cars and trucks.you can add this coolant to any brand of anti-freeze. its called universal type anti-freeze. to run a differant anti-freeze in it, you have to flush out complete engine and radiator because the dex-cool and the green stuff do not mix well and cause engine corrosion etc. dex-cool is reccomended for all chevy engines. good-day !

Is there a freeze plug located behind the thermostat housing on a 96 lumina

There is not a freeze plug in the area but if you have antifreeze from there it could be the intake gaskets leaking. You may have to let a repair shop pressure test the cooling system to locate the leak.
