The code reader detects P1446 solenoid valve malfunction. since then every time i try to fill the gas tank it keep on shutting off showing the tank is full even though it is all empty and i have to literally fill it drop by drop. Any cheap remedy to solve this problem?
I have the same problem with my 2005 sentra. It is the vent control valve. The only cheap way to fix this would be to take it off and spray wd-40 and see if it works. You could also get the part form a junk yard. Nissanpartsdirect also has it. I beleive it is officially called the vapor canister.
I have replaced the canister, vent valve, purge valve, pressure sensor, egr valve and much more and still this light is appearing. I am ready to set this car on fire. Nissan sentra has the worst evap system and the dealer can not even fix it so time to light a match.

EVAP canister vent control valve is damaged or has failed.EVAP canister vent control valve rubber tube is blocked.EVAP control system pressure sensor is damaged or has failed.EVAP water separator is damaged or has failed.EVAP canister is saturated with water.Click here to see the suspected parts to check out.

ok then what will be the expensive fix and if some one can tell me how much will it cost approx?
I have the same problem
I've got the same problem too....About a week ago the gas wouldn't fill like usual....something thats going to cost me some extra cash with the 1446 code....
I have a 2004 nissan Sentra the check engine light is on when you fill it up with gas it click off and on and you have fill it up little by little
i changed the evap cannister but didnt fix. the problem. change ur fuel tank and gas cap. will fix all plus future problem. cuz u will see the problem with the evap leak and that would be ur gas tank cap. teh problem not able to fill is due to gas tank. see u are covered under the recall if not need to buy a gas tank
No cheap fix for this.
