I was having problems with the back door of my 1997 grand caravan, i could not open it. When I finally did open it, i locked it by mistake. Now i cannot close the door at all!!!! help!!
If you can opperate the latch use something to make sure the jaws are open should close then or try adjusting the latch or post the trouble with it opening in the first place may have been a miss adjusted latch this also may be why it wont close

REPLACE THE REAR DOOR ACTUATOR, THAT IS THE MOTOR THAT UNLOCKS THE DOOR FOR THE HANDLE TO WORK, THE KEY DOESN'T MOVE THE LOCK TO OPEN THE DOOR, REMOVE REAR DOOR PANEL TO ACCESS IT, ROUND HOLE WITH COVER FROM INSIDE CAR WILL ACCESS EMERGENCY KEY WAY WITH SCREWDRIVER CAN OPEN DOOR FROM INSIDE, GOOD LUCK!!
You may need two people to do this. One will have to lift the handle and at the same time the other will have to use a screwdriver to pry the latch back to the original, unlocked, position.
Check your fuses. Because the locks are powered they have a fuse. Most likely the fuse box is located on the driver side under the steering wheel/ dash.
chrysler/dodge minivan keyfobs may contain a button for the automatic door/hatch when it is not equipped does the overhead console contain a switch for the door or hatch? if it does then somethings wrong if it doesnt its just another button on your keyless :)
I have a 2004 Murano. I opened the small hatch and with a screw driver and someone on the outside managed to open the hatch. The problem appears to be bent pieces inside. After straightening them out and using a good silicon spray, mine works again. It should be lubricated quite frequently.
take a screwdriver and place it in the opening behind the metal piece ...apply light pressure against the metal piece as you pull the handle like you were opening the liftgate....this should allow the piece to flip open
