Sorry but your stuck with the 4l60e if you want it to be right. as for using the bravada transmission thats fine you just have to use your transfer case. your transfer case uses a switch on the dash and an electric motor on the transfer case. the bravada uses a series of sensors on the front and rear axle that sense wheel slippage and send a signal to the electric motor on the transfer case causing it to lock in four wheel drive. when the sensors dont sense wheel slippage any more the system returns to two wheel drive. that,s why they call it smart track. just unbolt your transfer case from your transmission and bolt it to the bravada transmission and install it. p.s- dont forget to at least change the front pump converter seal. for 4 or 5 bucks it,s cheap insurance against a major leak and i dont think you want to pull that transmission out again and yes i saw that happen to many times. good luck.-G.J.M

Your best bet would be another 98 Blazer/Jimmy transmission, or you would want to find the code "8TAD" on the laminated sticker next to the vent tube, or on the underside by where the 2wd transmission mount bosses are. The 96-97, 99-00, and 01-02 Blazer/Jimmy transmissions all have different valve bodies, and separator plates are all different, and in 99 they started to use the deep pan. The 98 was basically a one year only setup for that particular valve body/separator plate setup. You could use safely any 96/98 Blazer/Jimmy transmission. You just want to make sure it has the TAD behind the year (6TAD, 7TAD, 8TAD)

Will a 2004 Chevy Silverado 4x4 transmission fit to my 1998 GMC Sierra 4x4 both are 5.3l

Not according to Hollander interchange. Late 1998 to 2002 interchange. 2003 is all by itself. And 2004 to 2006 interchange. It doesn't tell what the differences are, but I would have to guess the electronic controlls.

I have an 89 S10 Blazer. Can I replace the front wheel spindle with one from a 94 Jimmy blazer

If it is a 4x2, yes. If it is a 4x4, maybe. if same engine and tranny in both they will interchange on a good day. If not the same engine and tranny, 4x4 will probably not swap.

Transmission interchange

Yes, but the steps involved in switching the 4wd output shaft, over to the 2wd output shaft are very involved. Thats assuming that the bellhousings are identical. (detachable bellhousing) That you do not need a 30 spline input shaft for your torque converter (96+ blazer input shaft splines are all 28 splines, however you may need a 30 spline in order for the correct torque converter to fit your 2wd vehicle.) You will need to know what 2wd output shaft you need, there are quite a few variations. Then you would need to take the pan off, pull the shift soleniod blocking access to the lockup soleniod, remove the lockup soleniod, remove the pump bolts, pull the pump, unhook the 2nd/4th, band remove the reverse drum - 3/4 drum (by pulling the input shaft twards you) then remove the yellow snap ring holding the output shaft in place. Now the output shaft is able to be removed and switched. Re instalation of the drums/pump is tricky as well, as all the clutches need lined back up to slide back onto there corasponding splines. Long story short, it would be alot more trouble than its worth. : )
