2002 will not start

My 2002 tracker will not start. I smell fuel when I attempt to start it. I took off the starter and had it checked and auto zone said it is ok. It doesn't seem to have any spark at all.
I recently (less than a month ago had the serpentine belt and alternator replaced) Any ideas would be great!!

Let's get this if we have this right ! When you turn the key to the start position ,the starter engages an spin's the engine around , But does not Start ? If that is the case ,why on god's green earth did you take the starter off an have it checked ? An if it doesn't spin the engine over ,how do you know it doesn't have spark ? From your posting it clearly sounds like you don't have any diagnostic skill's , so do youself a favor an have a professional shop check it out .

SOURCE: 2003 tracker service manual

In your owners manual it says you can get a manual from the dealer for $120. But a friend of mine who works for a different dealership said www.helminc.com is were they get all of theirs that the mechanics use. It's now $135. It's under Chevy not Suzuki.

SOURCE: 2001 Chevrolet Tracker Steering Issues

i would check the power steering fluid level. if thats ok. then i would bet its your power steering pump. other possibilities although rare are :
if its power assisted rack and pinion, rack may need to be replaced if its damaged or corroded on the inside. or could be a pinched hose in the power steering hose routing. Wrong fluid in the power steering pump (causing the valves to swell shut) this happens when quick lube places put the wrong fluids in the wrong places. ( i went to one and they put the wrong fluid in my brakes and had to have my master cylinder replaced and brake system flushed... yes they denied it still cost me 350.00) also could be damaged suspension parts causing the resistance to your steering. hope this gives you some leads to find out whats up.

SOURCE: I need a serpentine belt/routing diagram 2000 chevy tracker.

For the 2000 Chevrolet Tracker:

Most modern vehicles have the Belt Routing Diagrams on the undeside of the Hood. But the sometimes disappear.

I do not know if you have the 1.6L In-Line 4-Cylinder, or the 2.0L DOHC In-Line 4-Cylinder. Nor what Engine Options you have (AC/No AC, etc.).

Let me know if this helped, or if you have additional information or questions. Feel Free to contact me at FixYa.com!

1995 Geo Tracker manual gearbox. It ran fine, then one day it spit and died. Now it cranks but won't start?

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

It may be fuel pump pressure, but you need to diagnose before guessing what might be wrong. A mobile auto electrician with a pro grade scan tool computer can diagnose all the electronic modules and sensors and tell you why?

There are some ideas here

My envoy 2002 engine is weak as if something closing the fuel road and check engine appears and smell of burned fuel raises

I know auto zone and advance auto in my are will read the code for you. If check engine light is on it helps to have the code or codes to help figure out what direction to look at.. A good starting point is to get the codes.

2001 Expedition won't start sometimes. Took it to auto zone said it wasn't battery alternator starter is pulling to many amps. So check starter connections first then put new starter on. Would like 2nd...

Hi, Usually starter draws the current about 300 Amps to crank the engine. If your car is not crank, the problem is either on your battery or starter relay/solenoid. If car crank but it does not start, the problem are on ignition, fueling.
In your case, I think just check the current draws of starter ( auto zone has done, but no data) compare it with new starter. If there is significant difference then they are correct. In contrary, then the problem is not on your starter, it could be your battery.

2002 Taurus starts & then dies. After an hour, it is OK for weeks

put a volt meter on the battery when you get the problem to occur, I have run into intermittent problems and found that when cranking the battery voltage drops below 9 volts and when the voltage drops below 9 the pcm powertrain control module does not know what to do and will cause the problem you are talking about, if it drops below 9 volts check and clean power and ground connections and have you battery tested, your local autozone will test it for free, and most likely your battery is going bad. and auto zone installs batteries for free also.

It takes several attempts to start my 2002 C240 -

the whole repair should be covered under the ESP. It may be the ignition switch itself in the steering column or the starter solenoid. Some solenoids are remotely mounted from the starter others are an integral part of the starter.

Take off a starter 2002 concord 3.5

According to the online instruction manual available here at the Auto Zone site, you need to loosen the left engine mount and slightly raise the engine to provide clearance to get the starter out.
