My 2002 tracker will not start. I smell fuel when I attempt to start it. I took off the starter and had it checked and auto zone said it is ok. It doesn't seem to have any spark at all.
I recently (less than a month ago had the serpentine belt and alternator replaced) Any ideas would be great!!
Ignition coil or crankshaft sensor, possible ignition module
Let's get this if we have this right ! When you turn the key to the start position ,the starter engages an spin's the engine around , But does not Start ? If that is the case ,why on god's green earth did you take the starter off an have it checked ? An if it doesn't spin the engine over ,how do you know it doesn't have spark ? From your posting it clearly sounds like you don't have any diagnostic skill's , so do youself a favor an have a professional shop check it out .

I bought a new belt and it had a series of diagrams for different engines on the cardboard packaging (ie GM 3.8L). I needed it for my '01 Impala.

It could be your fuel pressure regulator, check this link for details:

That's what it looks like.

In your owners manual it says you can get a manual from the dealer for $120. But a friend of mine who works for a different dealership said www.helminc.com is were they get all of theirs that the mechanics use. It's now $135. It's under Chevy not Suzuki.
SOURCE: 2001 Chevrolet Tracker Steering Issues
i would check the power steering fluid level. if thats ok. then i would bet its your power steering pump. other possibilities although rare are :
if its power assisted rack and pinion, rack may need to be replaced if its damaged or corroded on the inside. or could be a pinched hose in the power steering hose routing. Wrong fluid in the power steering pump (causing the valves to swell shut) this happens when quick lube places put the wrong fluids in the wrong places. ( i went to one and they put the wrong fluid in my brakes and had to have my master cylinder replaced and brake system flushed... yes they denied it still cost me 350.00) also could be damaged suspension parts causing the resistance to your steering. hope this gives you some leads to find out whats up.

For the 2000 Chevrolet Tracker:
Most modern vehicles have the Belt Routing Diagrams on the undeside of the Hood. But the sometimes disappear.
I do not know if you have the 1.6L In-Line 4-Cylinder, or the 2.0L DOHC In-Line 4-Cylinder. Nor what Engine Options you have (AC/No AC, etc.).
