In my Hyundai Sonata right signal does not work properly. When lights are off and I use it, all lights including, head/fog lights are fleshing, my instrumental panel light is also flashing. When my headlights are on, right signal light is solid ON and when I try to signal right, nothing happens. Also, when I turn my emergency lights, everything is flashing just like when I only turn right signal without head lights (head lights, emergency, and instrumental panel light, fog lights). Left turn signal works without any problems. Hi/low beams work fine. It started to happen few days ago when car warmed up. I played around with it and it by switching lights and it stopped doing. Then next day it happened again when car warmed up, but stopped after I shut down and restarted the car. Then in the evening of same day it became permanent. Next day I noticed a strange smell of burning electrical insulation when I remote started my car and approached it. All fuses seem to be fine. Just in case, I looked at all of them with flashlight (both under hood and near steering wheel).

Sounds to me that the turn signal switch is bad and will have to be replaced. If you could wiggel it around and get them to work tells me that is wear the problem is.

try changing the coil- sometimes they get hot and break down- once they cool off vehicle will start and run until they get hot again
SOURCE: 2006 Sonata, first the low beam head lights went
this sounds very suspicious it is possible all the light just brunt out BUT very unlikely check fuses and test lights if lights or fuses are bad ? then test alternator volt regulator that it is not putting out too much volts not over 15v if that is OK then their is A short ! fore short you will need A weiring schematic PS. let us know please.

The problem is likely your multi purpose signal light switch. If you take the lever and move it from hi to low beam will the low beams come on? It is common for this multi purpose (real expensive ) switch to fail after a period of time! The steering wheel may have to be removed, to change it. The air bags will also need to be disabled so as not to active them while removing the switch.

I just replaced all bulbs and this did not fix the problem. I also noticed that the fog light unit (in fuse box under the hood) was clicking as well. I pulled it out, but problem presisted even without fog lights. I inspected visually the signal light rellay and everything seems normal on the inside. No burning smell either. When I was replacing bulbs, one of the rear left lights (that's working) had some water comming out of it :( . I did not check Alternator yet, but will try to replace signal light rellay tomorrow. I also have a gut feeling that it's a short somewhere, since a while ago I was cleaning my engine with solution that had a warning that it may shorten contacts if gest onto the wiring. Tried to do it cleanly, but I don't exclude the possibility of it getting on some contacts.
I think Alternator not putting out enough volts can be ruled out. When I unlock or start using remote, all lights flash as designed and all of them have good brightness, including the problematic turn/emergency signals.
No I did not check the switch yet, but I think I figured it out. I tried to hook up bulbs to rellay and connect it to car battery as per attached drawing. According to these instructions both lights must start flashing http://www.ehow.com/how_7789429_test-thr... but my E (or as per those instructions P prong) did not flash. I'll see if I can find a new rellay anywhere to test. Will post back if this resolves the issue.
