I had the same problem. The amp levels read fine but its the CCA or cold cranking amps. Low CCAs will cause your car to start only when it is cold.
Had this same problem it turned out i had to replace the battery alternator and starter to fix the problem ,,,, try the battery first but this seems to be a common problem

I replaced the battery did not fix the problem. somebody told me it could be the torque converter.
I have a 2003 ford taurus. My problem is sometimes the car starts and sometimes it won't. If the car sits for about an hour or so it seems to start back up.. I was told that the switch interruptor might need to be replaced.. I have the part, removed bolts and cant get it off... Anyone know a step I'm missing??
