1996 Isuzu Trooper ABS and All Wheel Drive light on

Hi! My fiance reported Trooper was having a hard time getting out of first gear. It seemed to slip into all wheel drive and ABS light came on. He lost power before he can leave the driveway. Is this a computer problem?

cold slips. can be, clogged filter.
cold AFT will not flow well in any clogged filter.
if lucky this can be it.
do not let it slip or the clutch packs burn to a crisp fast !

get a full flush and filter. and cross fingers.
ill assume the ATF levels is no low or too high. right>
do not guess at method or guess AFT types. ask. or read the operators guide, in the glove box. if not lost, if lost buy one?

Why does my Trooper take 30 minutes to warm up before intermittent power surging and panel lights blinking stops?

Need to know more. Is it petrol or diesel. If diesel is it the 3.1 or 3.0. Isuzu changed engines that year (1998) from 3.1 to 3.0 common rail.

check to see if drive prop shaft is engaged firstly, first step for front wheels engaging, then 2 more solenoids are under engine front of jeep, one coloured blue one grey, these work with vacuum, if i remember blue for engaging drive grey for disengaging, inside solinoids small tiny piston, could be stuck as mine was, can be taken apart & cleaned, reason sticking is moist in vacuum system, & not being used as 4 wheel drive until winter months, hope this helps

How do you engage and disengage 4 wheel drive on a isuzu trooper 3.0 year 2000

Hi. On the central console under the air went openings is a line of buttons - triangle-awd-motor heater-rear washer-rear heater... Just push AWD button and you must see a green symbol on the instruments down left corner first blinking and, if gears are switched right, steady lighting. Turn off the same way, but must first the HI-LO lever turn back to HI if you did use the LO gear.

Rr.ABS and the brake lights on

CHECK TO MAKE SURE WITH CAR RUNNING VOLTAGE AT THE BATTERY SHOULD BE 13.5 VOLTS TO 14.5 VOLTS. USE A DIGITAL VOLT METER TO CHECK VOLTS AT BATTERY. WITH ENGINE OFF BATTERY VOLTAGE SHOULD BE 12.5 VOLTS. IF NOT ALTERNATOR NOT CHARGING BATTERY.THAT WILL MAKE ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON AND A FAULTY BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH WILL ALSO CAUSE ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON.IF ALL LOOKS GOOD.HAVE THE ABS BRAKES SCANNED.IN THIS CASE YOU ARE HAVING BRAKE FAILURE.BECAUSE WHEN BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON THATS WARNING BRAKE FAILURE BECAUSE THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AND ABS UNIT IS TOGETHER AS ONE.NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.COULD LOSE BRAKE CONTROL AT ANY TIME TOW IT IN.

I have a 1996 Acura SLX which is basically the same vehicle as the isuzu trooper. My 4wd light will not go off even in 2wd and the other night went into 4wd all on it's own. the shop said a solenoid for...

Check the rubber vaccume pipes on the front axle first as it will do this if the pull out of 4wd one leaks the pull in 4wd one wins .It defaults to 4wd in .

You got 3 solenoids and a shift motor so best narrow it down a bit - try reading on isuzu trooper owners club UK about this problem .
