Do I need to completely remove the whole light housing to change the turn signal.
Yes you do. You have to take the whole assembly off the truck to fix the problem. I tried wesbingham3's way and it was a dead-end. I then had to call a Dodge dealer and they told me that you had to take the whole assembly off the truck which turns out easier than it seems. All you have to do is remove the two bolts that are by the radiator and pull the assembly straight off the truck. It helps when pulling it off if you already have the headlight out of the assembly (which can be removed from atop of the assembly). Once you get the assembly off the truck then all you have to do is change the bulb and replace the assembly. Once I figured it out it only took me 5 minutes.
You also need to remove the bolt that is just behind the plug in the wheel well. After that, the assembly should just lift off.
No. You can reach in from the bottom of the truck and give the light about 1/4 of a twist and it will come out of the housing. Then you can disconnect it from the wire harness where you can see it.
Good luck.
