The front windshield washer pump of your Citroen Ds3 does not work anymore./
pump dead, means pump motor is dead.
that means no 12vdc to the pump. is why, called DC POWER. pump sounds normal, dead.
if lines are clogged pump still spins
if impeller in pump is clogged, motor can't spin and may blow fuse.
so switch for pump is bad or the fuse blew again.
so use a volt meter at pump motor pins 12vdc,(2man test) and if not there work backward to switch then fuse.
Oct 2, 2013 - I recently had new fan belts installed after hearing a high-pitched, ... Do you hear the noise when the engine is running and the vehicle ... Just replaced water pump (and timing belt) yesterday and squeal ... When driving it make a noise but change out and caught speed the noise is coming from driver side.Missing: 1999 plymouth breeze
You hear a high-pitched squeal that stops when you shut off your engine: Readjust or replace the belt. These belts should have about half an inch of play and ...Missing: 1999 plymouth breeze
This noise could be the alternator, water pump, power steering pump, idler pulley or tensioner pulley. Sometimes an automotive stethescope is used to isolate noises around the engine.
It may be a slipping belt. Spray a mist of WATER on each belt and see if the sound changes. Belt may be loose or one of the belt driven devices locking up.
I recently purchased a 2004 Ascender with the 4.2l in-line six cylinder motor, and under the 60 day warranty, the fan clutch and water pump had to be replaced. The mechanic told me that the fan clutch wears out causing an out-of-balance condition which puts extra strain on the water pump, which was leaking. Another issue may be that the timing chain needs to be looked at, because the tension wheel/gear for the chain wears out, making the timing chain sloppy. Then the chain flops around inside the housing, making a similar noise to the one you describe. Have your mechanic/technician check it out.
check the wiring to the washer pump - its on the bottom of the washer bottle, disconnect the connector to the rear washer pump (do them both)
and clean up the contacts with sandpaper -
you can try swapping the connectors over and see if the front washer connector will power the rear washer, if so the problem is a fuse or the rear washer switch is broken.
Tell me how you get on and I'll advise further.
This way you can prove both pumps work, if the rear pump wont work off the front pump cable then the pump is at fault and needs replacing.
you are correct - its called a heater control module, mounted on heater case under dash - i believe it is only available at dealers, but i could be wrong
