Check fuel pressure with a gauge

Sounds like the pump is going bad & stops
mechanically or electrically

You don't need codes to have cylinder misfires, bad
egr valve or O2 Sensors with over 100,000 miles

That red wire is only for the fuel heater.will not cause a no start.try pumping the primer pump on top of the fuel flter hsg. but first open the bleed screw, which is black plastic also located on the top.this will eliminate any trapped air that might have entered the fuel intake system.if the pump does not get firmer and harder to push, then you have a leak in the fuel supply lines or the ck valves in the fuel filter hsg or stuck open. Still no start have it scanned to ck fuel pressure while cranking.it should be close to 5000 lbs

SOURCE: Check Engine light & slight hesitation

I had the exact same problem. The mechanic found a spark plug that was leaking on the back of the engine that was a pin to get to.

He replaced all plugs and wires and I no longer have this problem, so you may be onto something with the plug wire being loose.

SOURCE: engine stalls, check engine light, not fuel filter.

the white smoke as it stalls could be steam in the exhaust. This is caused by coolant leaking into cylinders from a leaking head gasket. You should check cylinder compression next with a compression tester.

The throttle body needs cleaning. It has some carbon build up, and when the battery went dead the computer lost its learned values, one of which is base throttle position. Now its reset back to factory specs, not accounting for a dirty throttle body. Seen it a million times

1999 chevy k2500. changed spark plugs 4 times in 7 months. Runs good for a week then doesn't start. Changed spider, throttle body sensor. Still has no codes and once again won't start.

The next time it won't start ,pull a sparkplug wire and see if you're getting fire. Then we'll known whether its a ignition or fuel problem and go from there.

1999 CHEVY LUNINA WON'T START BATTERY AND

Check the dash once you turn the key to the run position the passlock runs a security check using a set resistance value through the chip in the key. If the security light begins to flash the reading it received was incorrect or it didn't get a reading at all. You can try reseting the value it is looking for by turning the key to start then releasing it. After 10 minutes turn it off then cycle it start again leaving it in on for 10 minutes then back to off then one more time. After the third cycle has completed for a total of 30 minutes. You should be able to turn the key on and start the vehicle. If the light continues to flash their is a problem with the chip in the key or the connections within the ignition its self. Both are common but a Pass Lock Relearn as described above will usually adapt to the poor connection values. Hope this helps.

Have replaced the starter solenoid, spark plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, air filter, water pump and battery all within the last two months. When the truck gets hot it will not crank. Has electrical power,...

If you haven't already done so, replace the distributor cap and rotor. There is most likely corrosion inside the cap that is causing a crossfire condition.

This is a common problem on that engine.

Don't know why being hot would aggravate it, but start with the cap.

2002 chevy suburban shutting off whil driving in extreme heat

I had the same problem with mine. I installed a fuel pressure gauge, and drove around until the problem started. The truck should be running between 48 to 56 lbs. of fuel pressure. Mine ran at idle at 42lbs. , not even high enough. Drove it for about 20 minutes, and it started to stumble. Fuel pressure dropped to 30lbs, 20 lbs - then all the way down to 2lbs. I shut it off, and it would not start back up. 30 seconds later, I turned the key and it came up to 10lbs. press. 10 more seconds 20lbs. After almost a minute, it came up to 42 lbs. started and I drove away. I replaced the fuel pump assemb. on 7/3/2008. Drove it around, and the problem is gone. Mine is a flex fuel, and the pump retails for $668.00. I did find a AC Delco pump for $221.00. I hope this helps.
