SOURCE: water pump needs replacement.cummins diesel

the water pumps on these engines are some of the easiest to replace. just take the belt loose. unbolt the water pump and pull it out. scrape whatever pieces of the old gasket are on the block off. and install new water pump and gasket. the put the belt back on.

SOURCE: a diagram for changing the

On a cummins turbo diesel the water pump replacement is quite simple i do believe. just have to remove the belt. The clutch fan, and pulley, then the water pump is right there i believe being held on by 4 bolts only and remove. Remember to place the wate pump o-ring on the water pump and hold in place with sort of adhesive just to make sure it doesn't slip out during installation or this will cause a leak. Once everything is installed then you will need to purge the cooling system of the air bubbles by letting it run and watching when the thermostat opens up. You can tell because the level will drop in the rad or over bottle, depending on what controls the fluid. Let it open two or three times, and go for test drive, all should be well...hope this helps

I ran a mixture of diesel and water thru my fuel system about three miles or so what do i do now

drain the fuel, change the filter, add fresh diesel. cycle the key several times and see if she fires up. you might have to crack the injector lines to help in bleeding the air out of the system. the good thing is the vp44 injection pump doesn't know what its pumping and 2001 24v cummins do not have electronic injectors, so you should be ok.

How do i change the fuel filter on a dodge 3500 diesel dually

Hello aboadwine -- You didn't say what year model, but for the 6.7 cummins they didn't change very much.

Here is a link with instructions, even has pretty pictures for you.
You will need a good filter wrench, ratchet, & extension...cause they do get tight.
I hope this helps... good luck with the Ram.

Is there a difference between a $60.00 water pump and a dealership $474.00 water pump for a 2005 dodge dielsel

Hi,
if you have a Cummins diesel then it probably has a geardriven water pump. Dodge gas engines have a belt driven water pump, much cheaper. Check around for a re-man water pump if you have a Cummins installed. The prices vary enormously.

Good luck.

I own2001 Dodge Cummins Diesel truck. My vent

Pull the blower fan motor out from under the dash on the passenger side, wash the box out with a water hose, then attach a piece of rubber hose over nipple that comes out of drain about 1" longer. Your condensate water is draining back inside truck through nipple to carpet padding
