Where is the Fuel Pump on a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 2 dr Pickup, and how easy is it to replace?
Well the pump is in the fuel tank and it depends if the tank is full or not if it is its very heavy and you will need a jack and 1 other person to help you there are two fuel lines to unhook and the electrical connector. When replacing it replace the entire fuel pump/sending unit and the electrical harness or you will end up having more problems also spend the extra 15$ and replace the fuel filter
You stand a better chance of removing the bolts that hold the bed to the frame and taillight plug and 2 guys can lift bed back about a foot, you can get right at it with out removing the lines.i would not want to remove the tank unless the gas is drained out. also disturb gas tank strapes tank might start leaking. save yourself alot of time and trouble and remove the bed. whatever way you do it good luck. Well...thanks to both of you. I asked the WRONG question. I meant the fuel FILTER. Sorry. Hope I did not cost you too much time. I have not worked on my own vehicles for about 40 years.
Just looking under the hood today scares me.
There used to be enough room under the hood of a standrd car for two people to crawl into and sleep. Now there is so much stuff there you are luck to find the dip stick.
Thanks again for the answer. Sure hope i don't need to do the fuel PUMP.
