Well...thanks to both of you. I asked the WRONG question. I meant the fuel FILTER. Sorry. Hope I did not cost you too much time. I have not worked on my own vehicles for about 40 years.

Just looking under the hood today scares me.

There used to be enough room under the hood of a standrd car for two people to crawl into and sleep. Now there is so much stuff there you are luck to find the dip stick.

Thanks again for the answer. Sure hope i don't need to do the fuel PUMP.

Well the pump is in the fuel tank and it depends if the tank is full or not if it is its very heavy and you will need a jack and 1 other person to help you there are two fuel lines to unhook and the electrical connector. When replacing it replace the entire fuel pump/sending unit and the electrical harness or you will end up having more problems also spend the extra 15$ and replace the fuel filter

You stand a better chance of removing the bolts that hold the bed to the frame and taillight plug and 2 guys can lift bed back about a foot, you can get right at it with out removing the lines.i would not want to remove the tank unless the gas is drained out. also disturb gas tank strapes tank might start leaking. save yourself alot of time and trouble and remove the bed. whatever way you do it good luck. 93 chevrolet silverado will not start fuel to throttle body can spray fuel in to it and it will start then dies (runs out of the fuel sprayed in)

Check for a dirty fuel filter, or it's a fuel pump relay/pump. If it has never had a fuel pump changed on it, it will say AC DELCO on the filter. The fuel filter is located under drivers side door along the frame. Fairly easy to change, and if this doesn't fix the problem, then it is the fuel pump relay/fuel pump. *Hint... it is easier to remove the bed of the truck than to drop the tank out. From experience it is much faster and easier to access.

Let me know,

93 chev 1500 won,t start

typical fuel pump issue.. Usually around $600 to have it done. The tech would check for pressure and then test the ground and the power souce for a voltage drop. If all this is not done to verify you need a 600 dollar pmp you cold be just throwing parts at it as you go.

How do I change the fuel pump

No pressure at fuel rail or nothing coming from injectors? I have seen pumps fail like that though. Pump comes out like the older pickup/sending units did. after tank is down, remove snap ring then remove pump. Check the "sock" filter on the pump to make sure it's nopt plugged up...If it is, you can change sock and clean out tank. Otherwise replace pump.
