Taillights wont work

Tail lights just stoped working bulbs look fine

Mar. 25 the dash lights went out after idling my car with the lights on for a moment (2-3 minutes while I knocked on a friend door two feet away from the front of the car, and talking with him for a minute) before turning the headlights off due to an odd dinging noise (Key in ignition dinging type noise).

Mar. 27 I got pulled over because I had no back lights, as the officer said "it's completely black back there." I didn't bother asking him if turn signals or brakes lights came on, but I'm assuming not. As far as I know, it's just the tail lights. I currently do not have the car as I left it at a friend's house.

Additional Note: The dinging for the headlights being on will not come on either.

Replace the "looks fine" bulbs first (cheap fix), then replace the fuses (also cheap fix), if that doesn't fix the problem it could be wiring (may NOT be cheap fix!)....

SOURCE: 2001 Wrangler brake light not

The light assembly is grounded to the body through the mounting screws. It sounds as though it is a bad ground. You could run a ground wire to a bolt on the frame from a mounting screw to check for aground problem.

My tail light doesn't work on the driver side only. Turning and brake lights work fine just not the tail light. What do I do??!!

Did you check the taillight bulb? Likely is is the same as the brake light. If the wire inside does not connect the two wire prongs the bulb needs to be replaced.

Right brake light out; tail light works fine

most rear tail lights and turn/stop lights are the same dual filiment bulb. it is possible for your tail light to work and your brake light not to and still have a bad bulb. I would check the bulb first, your brake light works on the left yes? this would mean that the fuse is fine

Tail lights wont work

The light bulbs went bad. Or the wiring to the lights it bad. Take out the taillight and put a meter to it to see if it is getting proper voltage.
