My 1995 nissan altima will nopt crank when i turn the key everrything shuts off and the only thing that stays lite on the dash is the word security

HELLO I HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM ON A 01 OLDS AERO I KNOW YOUR CAR IS A NISSAN BUT TRY THIS IT MIGHT WORK FOR YOU
TRY STARTING CAR IF NOTHING LEAVE KEY ON FOR 10 MIN AND THEN TRY TO START CAR AGIAN DO THIS 3 TIMES AND LEAVE KEY ON FOR 10 MINTUES AND DO NOT TRY TO START CAR JUST WAIT AND FOURTH TIME TRY TO START IF NOTHING TURN KEY OFF AND WAIT 10 MIN AND THEN TRY TO START YOUR CAR WHAT THIS DOES IS RESET YOUR SECURITY SYSTEM IN YOUR CAR

2005 Nissan Altima SEDAN SL 3.5L V6 A/T????? the NAT bottom tells the BCM to allow starting the engine.
SEE THE SECURITY LAMP, CIRCLED IN RED.
THIS MUST GLOW CORRECTLY.

the starter relay modulel is commanded by the BCM.
the flow of logic is.
KEY>?NAT>BCM,TO CANBUS>> IDPM RELAY, >> STARTER.
AS YOU CAN SEE CLEARLY THE NAT MUST BE HAPPY FIRST WITH A VALID KEY,
COUNT THE 7 FUSE THAT CAN BE BLOWN. 7 OF THEM.

Nissan Altima wont start

Check simplest things first. Make sure battery cables are tight and free of corrosion. You could be getting enough power to light up your dash but not enough to crank the engine.

if it is causing this you can tell by observing the security lamp whie cranking engine(top of dash left hand side near v.i.n. plate.if you have a solid red light while key is on or cranking engine then this an indication of fault with anti theft key system.if the lamp is out you need to look elsewhere.these cars are notorious for crank and cam sensor failures.good luck and please let me know how it works out.

1995 nissan altima. Turn the key and it won't crank. Sometimes it will and mostly it won't crank. Had the starter checked and it's fine. What could be the problem?

I am assuming that the starter will not crank over when you turn the key.It sounds like the starter solenoid is toast.Get a meter and see if there is power to the solenoid when you turn the key.It will be the smaller gauge wire .If you have power to the solenoid and you get no cranking then you will have to replace the starter(they are one unit)

Rapid clicking noise coming from under the dashboard.

If you have a tape cassette player in the dash, this can cause a sound like what you are describing. Even though a tape is not in it,,, it can still freak out and cause this sound. Had this happen on several of my old vehicles. Let us know if this helps. Leave feedback for others to see. Thanks.

You may have a bad crank sensor, that will prevent spark if bad, or possibly a bad key security system will shut down ignition system.
