SOURCE: Daihatsu Sirion

I assume you are changing the timing belt. I am a mechanic and although not familiar with your vehicle, you would usually locate the timing mark on the bottom pulley and line this up. Careful not to turn the engine over too hard as pistons can strike valves. then you should look for similar marks on the camshaft pulley[s], and line these up. Then fit belt. This has to be tensiond correctly which is important. Hope this helps. Mike the bike01.

SOURCE: my daihatsu sirion abs light was always on what is

Hi, the light is basically telling you that there is a problem with a sensor or the sensor circuit. Find the eobd 16 pin plug and bridge the fourth pin on the top and the fifth pin on the bottom row with the ignition off. Now turn the ignition on and the light will flash and display codes. The series of first flashes indicates tens n the second series shown after a longer pause between flashes. Eg code 21 would be 2 flashes then a pause and one flash thereeon. The codes can be gotten from toyota nation. This will direct you to which sensor is faulty. Once the repair is done pump the pedal eight times and the light should blink constantly. Now turn off the key and pull out the bridging wire. Enjoy!!

2010 daihatsu sirion 1.3. Some days drives fine, others struggles to change up 1st to 2nd/3rd gear. As I accelerate it fails to respond, then revs & jumps up to next gear. Engine light comes on.

Associated with the oil control valve is a filter. If you have not also changed this then you should consider doing so as a first step.
Over time the oil will degrade and build up a sludge of mostly metal particles which will reduce the effectiveness of the filter as they collect there so the oil could properly need to be changed. When you do this use a flushing oil to clean out any existing sludge. Follow the instructions on the can. Only replace the filter after flushing is complete.

2008 Toyota Passo remove glove box

The Daihatsu Boon is a subcompact car/supermini produced by Japanese automaker Daihatsu since 2004, and also sold as the Toyota Passo and the Daihatsu Sirion. The Toyota Passo is sold at Toyota Corolla Store Japanese dealerships. Outside Japan, the first-generation Boon is sold as the second-generation Sirion.
If you can not find Part diagram for Passo then look for Daihatsu Sirion or Boon models.

Do I have to remove the engine from the car to change the timming belt of a Sirion GTVI

most likely. timing belts are a notoriously hard (and usually expensive) fix. you may have to hit a garage for that one. make sure of that knock as well

1999 Daihatsu Sirion

Your engine is probably an EJ-DE twin cam 12 valve.

Generally Daihatsu belts have marks on them that line up with dimples on the sprockets for the intial phasing. You rotate the engine to top dead centre on No1 piston and install the belt from there. The cams should be not be putting any pressure on the intake and exhaust valves of No1 when phased correctly.
