Mine has done this about half a dozen times in five years. It always fixed itself after 8-48 hours. Now it is doing the exact same thing, except it is buzzing loudly. The speakers are still buzzing even after ignition is turned off! I took out the fuse and the buzzing stopped. How can you fix this?

I had the same problem. No ding ding ding when the door is open with key in. No sound from speakers, but the radio is showing volume and station.

Pop the hood and find the fuse that says "radio." Pull it and flip it around the other direction and put it back in. There is also one that says "radio amp." Do the same thing with it. This fixed everything for me.

I had a similar issue a couple of years ago in which a shrieking noise was coming from my speakers and would not stop even with the key removed from the ingnition. The same trick with the fuse seemed to reset everything.

Good luck!

My van radio runs on 2 different fuses- both in the fuse box under the dash. One runs the lights the other the sound. Hope this helps.

I've noticed my rear radio speakers are not working in my 2006 Chev. silverado, is ther a seperate on and off switch / button for rear speakers I might have hit and didn't realize ?

I have no idea which radio option you have in the truck, but it won't be a switch. There should be a fader control on the radio that controls the balance between the front and back speakers, and it may be turned or set all the way to one end (front speakers only). Check your owners manual, and if you don't have one, Google it for a download.

I have a 03 hummer h2 with a Bose sound system. The speakers won't work. The radio is on it changes channels but the volume does not work on the radio or on the steering wheel. Neither the CD funtion,...

It could be a bad amp. Those come with a factory amp usally right behind the radio. Hopefully you can find a used one from a scrap yard. Click Here to search in your area.

03 silverado radio worked this morning.started it in afternoon no sound but display lights up.

No solution but same problem. However mine intermittent. It will come on and run the passenger side speakers and then shut off. All panel displays are on. Next day same thing. I think it has something to do with weather. When it is below 30 deg it doesn't work. When it gets 45 deg and up it works somewhat. It sounds like a bad circuit board connection.

MY FACTORY RADIO VOLUME PROBS

More than likely with a 2003, the speakers that cut out are in the door or doors. Do they cut out of both speakers?

If they cut out of one, then you may have an intermittent speaker ( the wire to the cone becomes partially connected)

If both speakers turn off at the same time and you hear NOTHING on all speakers, then you more than likely have an intermittent connection on the radio itself and probably replacement is probably cheaper than fixing the radio.

One more thing
Factory radios sometimes have an amplifier in them. Sounds funny but they call the Radio in the dash the Head Unit and the amplifier is buried in the dash. You could have a bad amplifier or a loose power connection to it, but that is very unlikely.

Hope this helps.
