My 93 nissan quest isnt running very good

Well when i talke off its really sluggish and take a couple minutes to get any power. i put new plugs and cap and rotor and plug wires. Thought this would do it but still running rough almost like a plug wire is not on. But i checked and double checked all connected and in the right firing order. all i can think of maybe fuel filter or injector. Would that make it run rough like its missing?

Try to disconnect MAF sensor(mass air flow sensor) or MAP sensor (manifold absolute pressure) , I don't know which one you have , (suppose to have either one) , when engine running and see if it becomes any better , if it did , then it's your problem.
Just remember one thing , if your check engine light is off now , it will be on after you disconnect any above mentioned components.
Easy to reset , disconnect battery for 30 sec.

Have you checked for vacuum leaks? Also the Air Mass Sensor can create the symptom described. It has what is called a hot wire air mass sensor. When air flows through a route around the hot wire, the heat generated from the hot wire is taken away by the air. The amount of heat depends on the air flow. On the other hand, the temperature is automatically controlled to a certain number of degrees. Therefore, it is necessary to supply the hot wire with more electric current in order to maintain the temperature of the hot wire. The ECM knows the air flow by means of the electric change. WHOOSH! Get that? A vacuum leak can cause the problem. A problem with the air mass sensor would be a likely suspect. Check for solid grounds. DO NOT THROW PARTS AT IT!

2000 Nissan quest has a bad idle and runs really rough, what could be the cause???

take it autozone and have it scanned. There are multiple possibilities to O2 sensors, intake air temp, fuel pressure, bad plugs weak spark bad catalytic converter, leaking injector etc. Everybody knows someone who knows somebody that knows someone that has a $29.00 scanner, but has absolutely no clue or idea what codes mean. or the possible solutions. Stop wasting time and money throwing parts at it.

Run your car run out of gas and you try to start it after you put that gas in there and then all of a sudden it won't start what do I do find the car and the van I'm talking about whether is a 1998 Nissan...

1998 Quest is fuel injected. New fuel filter is good but you may need to change it again after checking for plugged injectors. This is not a fun repair to do on side of road. It is possible that fuel lines may be clogged depending on how nasty the fuel in the tank was, especially near empty. The fuel strainer, in gas tank, may be corked up as well.

Van running like its missing

the problem is not in the plugs , wires , cap , rotor but in dirty injectors or injector controls and wires
use a quality injector cleaner for a few tanks of fuel
ECM controlled cars do not a tune up as the computer does that 60 times a minute so all you need to do is to run the fault codes and fix the faulty sensors
fault codes are being recorded all the time and only the serious engine or transmission faults put the engine light on

How can u stop the buzzing noise for the automatic seatbelt on 93 nissan quest? Is there a fuse?

No fuse, but on the side between the door the panel you can take off and just unhook the wire(s) and then put the panel bak on. The only problem is that the light will stay lit on your drivers dash board. But it ststop the noise with no effect, Take 20 minutes top to do this.

I have a 99 nissan quest. I bought it a couple of weeks ago. I drove it from the place i bought it and it drove really really good. I pressure washed the engine, after that, the engine has been misfiring...

That pressure washing can and probably has damaged a sensor under your hood, but I doubt that a bad knock sensor would cause misfiring. Check your other sensors, lots of them on that engine.

'95 nissan quest stalled at a stop. Will not start, only cranks

I worked on a '93 Quest last year. Couldn't find out why it wouldn't start. It was the distributor shaft not held onto its rotating gear. The roll pin had come out of the gear on the end of the distributor shaft. When the distributor cap was off, the rotor was turning with the shaft while the engine was cranking. So I thought that was okay. But when I put my finger on the rotor and it stopped turning, that is when I found out the problem. It's a stretch, but maybe the techs missed it. Take the cap off, and if you can spin the rotor either way just by hand, the distributor gear has come loose.

Looks like they really covered a lot. I suppose next they will you to replace the ecu. Good luck.

Heat not working or diles

You most likely have an air pocket in the cooling system. The heater core on these vans is much higher than the engine and they can be tough to get all the air out of them.

Make sure the coolant in the radiator is full when engine is cold- also fill the overflow bottle to the top. Chock the rear wheels. Jack up the front of the van as far as you can and support with jack stands. Run the engine until it's warm and then hold the RPMS at 2000 for about 5 minutes while checking for heat inside the cabin. You may hear some funny noises like something is trying to come through the firewall forcefully! That's the air pocket moving... you might not hear this also. Once you have good heat inside, let the engine idle- if the air coming form the vents cools off after a couple minutes, the air is still there- keep doing this until the air is hot coming from the vents at idle for more than a couple minutes. Once you have good heat, turn the engine off and let the engine cool completely- at least a couple hours... you will most likely see the level in the overflow drop dramatically. Lower vehicle and make sure overflow is at COLD FULL mark.

Newer Altimas also had a similar situation in which heat would go away at idle- usually not a problem with an air pocket, but Nissan has a bulletin out on putting the correct concentration of coolant/water in the system- these cars are very sensitive to changes in coolant mixture concentration.

1999 Nissan Quest

you need to clean the mass air flow sensor wires. They get a coating of varnish on them and that leans out the fuel mixture. It is on the air cleaner tube and has 2 screws holding it in. remove the MAF sensor and clean it with carburator and a toothbrush vey gently. the 2 wires are gentle. no hard scrubbing. Reassemble. Engine will atke a few minutes to learn newly cleaned MAF. good luck.
