The knock sensor is on the back side of the engine near the trans. It is round, with a 1 wire connector. You will have to get it from underneath. Good Luck.

2011 Chevy Malibu lt. P0016 code. Replaced both cam sensor.and crank sensor still won't start

If you have the V6, they have a history of timing chain problems. The tensioner can go bad allowing the chain to rattle and jump time. This weill set the P0016 code since the cam and crank are not sync'ed and will result in a no-start condition.

if the cam sensor is bad, it will definitely not start. The cam shaft position sensor's function is: the engine speed and crankshaft position information is supplied frome a sensor which is usually situated at the front or rear of the crankshaft. note that distributor-located engine speed sensor are generally being replaced with crank shaft-located sensors,as worn disributor drives and associated components can effect the accuracy of the engine speed signal.

A camshaft position sensor,or cylinder identification sensor is used to determin the engine cycle position the information is used to provide individual cylinder ignition and injection cotrol. Many engine mangement systems use an inductive type of sensor that is located near the camshaft;when the camshaft rotates a single signal is passed to the ECU to indicate a reference point in the engine cycle

check crank or cam sensor. a bad crank sensor will cause car to shut off while driving downroad. then will restart after 10 minutes. a bad cam sensor will cause simillar symtoms. but these should set a code. get car scanned for codes. if you do not have a scanner. you can go to any auto parts store and they will scan it for free of charge.
