My chevy used to start right up, but now it has to crank 5 or 6 times and then it starts. What would be causing the slowing of starting my truck?

Pull the vac line off the regulator right after you stop the engine. See if there is gas in the vac line if so the regulator is bad. If no gas is present it could be the check valve in the fuel pump letting the gas pressure leak down. Get a set of gauges and hook up to the fuel lines and check for pressure loss. You will have some loss but should hold steady for several hours. Another thing to try is turn the key on and off several times before trying to start this will charge the lines if this works every time you are losing fuel pressure. If you still have trouble when doing this I would look somewhere else besides the fuel system

sounds like ignition module inside of distributor cap under distributor rotor button.these do go bad and can easily be replaced.strong suspicion from your details that this is the culprit.

Well the only thing i can think of is when your fuel is below half a tank the pressure relief valve and a rubber hose between the pump and the fuel line is exposed. Its possible your fuel is leaking back into the gas tank as it sits overnight, ect. You may want to perform a fuel pressure check when the the gas is at 1/4 tank and been sitting for awhile, pressure should hit 55 seconds after key is turned to run position.

FUEL PUMP RELAY SENDS POWER TO FUEL PUMP FOR COUPLE SECONDS WHEN YOU FIRST TURN KEY ON(BEFORE CRANKING) SEE IF YOU CAN HEAR PUMP COME ON, ONCE YOU START CRANKING PUMP SHOULD RUN. THEN ONCE YOU GET OIL PRESSURE PUMP WILL ALSO BE TURNED ON. IF RELAY IS BAD, FUEL PUMP WILL NOT GET POWER UNTIL ENGINE GETS OIL PRESSURE. THIS WILL CAUSE SLOW START. IF YOU CAN HEAR FUEL PUMP THE FUEL PRESSURE MAY BE LEAKING DOWN.
