PEUGEOT 307 FUSE KEEPS BLOWING (abs faults, horn doesnt work)

Peugeot 307 constantly shows ABS and Braking faults yet there is no problem with either, the horn doesnt work either (it does make a sound though it can be heard when double central locking is pressed) a mot mechanic looked at the front passenger sensor and said water had gotten into it. He also said that the fuse controlling the 2 was blown, he replaced the fuse but it had blown again within a few minutes. He thinks it could be down to bad wiring but i'v no idea where to start looking or if there is an easier / cheaper fix????

SOURCE: ABS Problem with 2002 Peugeot 307

which sensor did you replace ? there should be one on each wheel behind the hub
could be anyone of these faulty or a corroded connection
another possibility is a build up of muck between the sensors and the toothed wheel on the back of the hub, i had this twice on my 407 - and a good jet wash sorted it both times

SOURCE: 307 central locking fault

If you have replaced the battery and the ecu wasn't in sleep mode, then you'll lose the synchronisation between immobiliser and fob. go to peugeot dealer or call out a car locksmith who then can reprogram your fob with car ecu. I have read the method in internet but not sure what the steps were. you can google it may be you'll find it.

SOURCE: ABS and brake fault warning

I has a clicking/knocking noise on one of my 407 (54 plate) front wheels after a change of brake pads. On investigation I found that the bracket to which the caliper hydraulic hose was fixed (at the lower end of the suspension strut) had been bent downward and was catching the CV boot clip. I bent it back up and the noise went. It is possible (if the brake caliper is not supported during pad change) to bend the bracket supporting the hydraulic hose. It could also interfere with the ABS wheel sensor bracket - check. Simply jack-up and support the car on the side with the noise and turn the wheel by hand to see what gives (don't go under the car until it is supported safely)..

SOURCE: Peugeot 306 ABS light is on constantly.

if it help, having the abs light on in your vehicle just means that the abs system has a fault. normaly the abs sensor on one of the wheels are abd in 85% of all vehicles. if you are worried about driving the car, no worries, it is still safe to drive and you will NOT lose your brakes. your brakes are manual and the abs is electrical. i would say take your car to a dealership and have them rub a diagnostic test on your abs. they will be able to help you more then a regular garage will. most dont have the ability to check abs systems

SOURCE: I have a peugeot 307 rapier and the ABS light

hi had rhis on a few 307's what you need to try first is remove the o/s/r wheel, brake caliper and brake disc, and hub, remove the wheel speed sensor by undoing the 5mm allen key bolt and clean where the sensor sits then rebuild and give it a run all being well it should clear the fault. if that doesnt work it will probably need the sensor replacing

if this helps please let me know
cheers

How to fix an electrical circuit fault on peugeot 307

Test charging circuit (usually for free at parts store). A battery getting drained can cause much of this. With car sitting still you could try removing fuses one at a time to see if there is an unusual draw.

How do I identify the cause of an ABS Fault?

First thought is that if you have a judder from the brakes you may have a warped front disc. The ABS system sensor may be picking this judder up and converting it to a fault.
A warped disc would spin and catch then spin and catch again rather like the rapid on/off braking that ABS does. This 'could' be the judder you feel and should be especially noticeable when braking and barely noticeable when driving with the brakes completely off.

Abs fault, braking fault, horn does not work

Check brake fluid level. If OK, get the car scanned for error codes. Horn not working could be blown fuse or the horn relay.

Peugeot 307 2003 HDI 2.0 ABS warning Iight illuminated, braking ok, what can i check for?

Check ABS sensors, and pump operation.
It's best to plug in a diagnostic computer for this kind of work.

When you pump the brakes hard, I'm guessing that the ABS system doesn't operate any more. You likely won't notice thins until an emergency situation.
